it was working this morning now I can not text or make calls.

Welcome to Android Central! The first thing to do is contact your carrier and see if there's a problem with the network.

It could also have a bad SIM (they should replace it for free) or the 2G radio went bad (in which case you'd need the motherboard replaced).
