The same way you set any camera to take amazing pictures. Ansel Adams, probably the greatest photographer ever (maybe tied with Dorothea Lange) proved that with an old beat up Kodak box camera that wouldn't have fetched 25 cents at a yard sale. Fantastic pictures, though. (One of his secrets was to take a LOT of pictures, and only show the few good ones.)
Go to Kodak's site and learn composition, contrast, the rule of thirds, depth of field - all the things you need to be a good photographer. (They have tons of tutorials.) Your local library is also a good source.
Then use an app that gives you some control over the camera - I use
Camera FV-5 Lite. I'm not a great photographer, but it lets me be in control more than the stock app does.
