Contacts to display, setting keeps changimg...???

hey all...I have a Note 3, running Lollipop 5.0.

For some reason, my contact list keeps defaulting to "all contacts" (phone contacts plus conatcts from two email accounts), when I would rather display only contacts stored in the phone only.

When I go into the contacts, from there go to SETTINGS>CONTACTS>CONTACTS TO DISPLAY>choose PHONE, the contacts display properly....but as soon as I close the contacts and reopen, it goes right back to ALL CONTACTS.

This just started happening about a month or two ago. Anyone experienced this?Is there a fix?

Moved from the Lollipop forum to the Note 3 forum, since this is more likely a device-specific issue rather than a general Lollipop issue.
