Can anyone with the black Samsung S View Case tell me if it leaves fingerprints? Some material types will unfortunately show skin oil and grease.

you mean on the plastic on the s-view itself? yeah that's one of the things I didn't like about the case.

I was constantly wiping the s-view screen because it looks so dirty from fingerprints all the time.

Thanks! I actually was more concerned about the non-windowed part of the case. Having had an S View case on the S4, I'm pretty familiar with the finger prints on the window.

After spending an absurd amount of research over several days, I pulled the trigger on the Verus Thor yesterday (in Charcoal Black). Should have it in a few days.

It hits all the points for me:
    • TPU drop protection
    • Covered buttons
    • Uncovered ports
    • Hourglass shape for easy grip
    • Not bulky
    • Overwhelmingly good reviews
    • Under $25
Fully understanding Tiger and possibly in the absurd camp myself.
    -- SNIP --
I have to admit I am considering a Supcase for its port covers. It even looks like the cover for the S pen is hinged somehow. That would give me one case with port covers for nasty places for a phone....like the beach.
Thanks for such a detailed observation. I received the Verus Thor case on Saturday and I must say, it is quite well-engineered.

Not only does it hit all the points I listed before, but a few other things worth noting:

    PROS
    • Two-piece design allows me to use the thin metal plate for my awesome iMagnet Mount. Can't even tell it's installed.
    • All cut-outs are very precise -- especially the dual slits over the rear speaker.
    • Large cut out for USB charger.
    • Very large cut-out for the S-Pen.
    • Two separate buttons for the volume rocker.
    • Power and volume buttons take more intentional pressure to use (this is good because I was always pressing them accidentally when I went to grab the phone)
    • Charcoal black is identical match to factory color.
    • TPU portion is matte and very stiff composition (very little flexing).
    • On the back, the TPU portion is raised instead of flush with the polycarbonate so that's what comes in contact with the surface
    • Shallow ramp for heart rate sensor (good thinking, Verus!)
    • Lastly, when installed, it's doesn't even look like an aftermarket case. It looks "stock", which is awesome.

    CONS
    • If I were to be extremely nit-picky, my only gripe is very minor: the outside molding edges are a bit sharp to the touch (when comparing to the Body Glove DropSuit I had on my S3).

    Here are some photos:

This is what I have on mine now and it is a BEAUTIFUL case. I just wish it was a bit less slick feeling. The ad kind of led me to believe it would be more grippy:
Spigen Galaxy Note 4 Case Thin Fit | Spigen

I am also sporting the spigen crystal screen protector, and while it doesn't cover the glass completely from edge to edge it does cover the used portion of the screen, allowing for case edging to not peel or disturb it. Either way I feel more confident handling my device now.

Jeez these companies just don't get it.

Got an email from Spigen today telling me that if I wanted to return my Tough Armor I could but that they were planning on having a new polymer jacket cut for all the US carriers in about two weeks. I could return the TA or if I waited, they would send out the replacement jacket when it is ready. I had already sent my TA back but I kept waiting to get to the part of the email where they would tell me my incentive for waiting. As you might guess, if I had held my breadth waiting for it I would not have survived the email.

Elvis and all the grey matter that actually knew how to run a company left the building in the 2008/2009 mortgage and hedge fund debacle and associated economic meltdown. Happened all over business and industry. Had there been anybody left at Spigen that actually knew how to handle this sort of thing they would have known how valuable the tiniest little gesture directed at the customer is in having the customer do what you would like him to do...in this case wait and feel good about it at the same time.....a Spigen trinket of some sort, a gift certificate toward the purchase of the screen protector (whenever Spigen's are available again) almost anything that says "hey look, we know we screwed up...we appreciate your business". We are suckers for that kind of stuff. Even if the company describes whatever the gesture is going to be to a tee and we know it is something that probably cost them $0.05 our natural human inclination is to want to see what it in our hands and have something that in all likelihood only the club of Spigen customers caught up in mic-hole-gate would have. Our natural inclination is to want to cooperate and generally all we need is a little incentive.

Staggering...not even sure these companies learn anything from their mistakes.

Great fit and attention to detail.

Well, thanks a lot TD99! Not only did your pics and review on Amazon cause me to go ahead and pull the trigger on the Thor. Now, even though I had already bought a cup holder mount for my N4 to the tune of $26, I wasn't happy with the grip mechanism. So a cup holder adapter and an imagnet are also on the Amex this week and on their way to me. Lol, when will I learn? When I get a new phone I need to stay off the forums and reviews and hide the credit card!

    --Update--
OK, so the Thor arrived while I was typing the above post. Wow! I really like this case. I've been sporting a Ballistic TJ, which is a phenomenal, protective case. Used one for a couple years on my S3. While still top notch, it feels a little bulky in my hand on the N4. I'm not sure how they did it (I mean, come on, these are cases we are talking about here. How much difference can there really be ?) but the Thor looks almost every bit as protective while feeling about half as large?!? Love it. Keeping it. BTJ is now a backup.
For a great take on it, TigerDave99 post above is spot on...even his one con. I may file those edges down a little with a very fine file, but this is nit picking.

Of all the cases I have tried so far the Thor is the clear winner for me as well. they goofed on the VzW left mic hole as so many did. But that was an easy remedy and it is such a good case. I also have the Ballistic TJ. It is very protective. Had they carried their texture from the back around the edges like the Thor they would have made it more difficult for me to choose the Thor.

Feel so confident in the Thor grip that I can flip my phone around in my hands like it is a deck of cards. Like how protective the TJ is but I am nowhere near as confident in the grip and cannot manipulate the N4 in that case like I can in the Thor.

Why not just get an adjustable ProClip cradle and a dash mount specific to your car and call it a day? Adjust the cradle to your phone/case of choice and lock it down. Becomes a fixed cradle. New phone/case, loosen, adjust, tighten and you're good to go.

Granted, I'm a bit biased since I sell them, but after reading posts of people constantly buying new car mounts every time they get a new phone, i5s quite comical. I've had the same setup in my car since it was new in 06'. Their one cradle has worked since the original Galaxy S.

Thanks for the suggestion. Since you asked, "why not", I'll give you my reasons. In the past I owned many Pro Clip and RAM solutions for vehicles and motorcycles. Personally I have a few issues with them that make them not ideal for me. We'll stick to the Pro Clip. While it is an excellent quality solution, it is not easily removable (like on a whim). I like to have something that pops in and out easily and leaves my vehicle stock. I change vehicles often so I would need to change mounts when I change vehicles, and being of premium quality, these are not cheap. They are often also either blocking a vent (hot natured and live in the south, unexceptable), or in a less than ideal location. The phone holders (note 4 currently not listed on pro clips website) even without a mount, are as expensive as my two complete mount purchases I already made. In the end, I have several reasons pro clip are no longer ideal for me. But it is an excellent product for the right person.

Thanks for posting the photos. I ordered this from Amazon after seeing your post and just received it. I have to say it looks great on the phone and is easy to hold. The small stand offs (bumpers?) on the back corners are very slightly sharp and it could fit tighter over the top and bottom as it does on the sides. I don't know how it will hold up over the long run but as I was mainly concerned about getting something on my N4 until I find a more permanent solution. I may get the Samsung Protective Cover when it's in stock but this will work till then. Oh, the correct cutout for the microphone is a big plus.

I received the Blaison clear case today, and like it a lot more than I thought I would.

This is what it looks like on my white N4 with Spigen tempered glass: (BTW, it has the microphone cutout for both Verizon and other carriers)
