I want to get the Note 4 from Verizon.
Are there advantages or pre-ordering? Price, delivery?
Are there disadvantages other than not having a hands on evaluation?

Interesting that they only mention the easy pay price and not the upgrade or new contract price.

Is there really any reason why you would pre-order a phone? Carriers should incentive Pre-orders by allowing the person to get the phone early or a little discount. I am planning on getting the note 4, but when I have pre-ordered another device it will usually arrive a day later due to shipping. For example, I pre-ordered the note 3, but if I would of waited till release day there was plenty of stock at the stores and my phone arrived a few days later. I really see no point at all in this process.

Reesh, I just pre odered mine from best buy, I think I was the first one, he didn't even know the release date, but It's ordered! And I didn't have to wait with all the Iphone6 people. Got the charcoal black one, white was the only other color, I thought they would have gold, but that's ok.

    A few reasons I pre-order:
-Avoid waiting an hour plus in the store for a transaction that should only take 5 minutes.
-Depends on where you live and the overall fate lies in the hands of the delivery man, but I've received most of mine a day before official store release.
-Guaranteed to get the color I want
-Sometimes activation fees are waived if you order online.
-AT&T hard site stores will usually not let you reserve a phone to pick up the day of release...at least the ones around where I live will not take reservations.

I'm headed to the store. These bozos on the phone don't know their right hand from their left lol. Did you buy outright? Website now says $799 which is still cheaper than AT&T!

Just wondering if anyone had been able to get a preorder for the note 4 today?? I've tried several stores in town and online and no where is even offering it. I've also phoned some of the UKs biggest carriers and none of them had any info in regards to the Note 4 or that it was available for preorder.... Have all the media reporting preorders would start today got it wrong?!

Anyone from the UK able to advise??

Anyone know how much bestbuy is charging for the verizon version? I am considering upgrading from my lg g3 to the note 4 and bestbuy will give me $10 for my old thunderbolt so I can then get 190 back from samsung.

I have a feeling AT&T would give us that ugly at&t box like what they did with Note 3.

So I can preorder online and do the trade in when I preorder and then go to the Samsung Promotion website and they'll send me a check for the difference? How does the carrier give you the trade in money? On a gift card?

It appears that for initial release everyone so far is black or white only.

At Best Buy...one guy said no pre orders today but lady at customer service said they are $799. As I said before I was prepared to pay about ~750 for the phone. Trade in value for my M8 was only $165. That's laughable. Can easily sell it on Ebay for about twice that which is what I plan to do. My next stop was AT&T but I couldn't even make a store appointment since they are so busy. Played with the 6+ and while it's nice I already have an iPad mini to bridge the gap between iOS and Android. No thanks

I'd sell my Note 2 on Ebay or CL but since it has burn-in at the top of my screen, I probably won't get as much as I could without it. I may just go the trade-in and Samsung Promotion route. Plus no upgrade unless they allow me to upgrade early. Which I doubt they will.

So i preordered at the Verizon store, they were befuddled when I asked to preorder the Note 4, they said you can't yet until one person knew about it. You think they would be well versed on what is coming out on what day.

Anyways, they can't give me a trade-in-value for my droid until I turn it in. So how do I gather this info to be eligible to receive the Samsung pre-order offer? I know it is worth a whole $18 trade-in-value, but it gets me in the door for the $200 total savings...

    So how is this done?

So how do I acquire the trade-in-value info if I have to hold on to my phone until I receive the new one? Can someone lead me in the right direction? Thank You.

I ordered at Verizon today and they thought I was wrong when I said the pre-order is today. Go figure...

Why on the first page does it say free overnight shipping and after you complete your order it changes to free 2 day shipping?

I also had an early upgrade available and they soaked me this new $30.00 upgrade fee. Is this just a new way for Verizon to rip you for an extra $30.?

    Now, I wait...........................

Verizon always charges upgrade (or activation fees if you're a new customer) when getting a new phone.

The upgrade fee isn't new, Verizon implemented it over 2 years ago. If you don't want to pay the upgrade fee, then just don't upgrade at subsidized pricing. Otherwise, no way around it. And it isn't bad, relatively speaking, att charges a $40 upgrade fee.
