I want to know when and where I can preorder an unlocked version directly from Samsung or retailer here in the states. I'm done with carriers garbage.

Samsung doesn't sell directly in the US. You can see if Best Buy will carry an unlocked version - they do with some phones but usually at inflated price - or you can check Amazon to see if they are (make sure you are buying directly from Amazon though and not some other individual or company that sells through Amazon).

Also make sure it supports all the bands you need. I know on the note 3, there are unlocked versions that don't support lte.

Didn't think they did. I see one on Amazon for 899.99 and one on GSM nation for 725.99. I guess that's my only option.

Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to.... Since you would have to trade in the device AT&T won't allow you to trade in, get cash, AND also trade in the device and have the reamining amount "forgiven" to go to the next ... They would be giving you two benefits .

And Verizon says with a 2 year contract, it's $299.99. I don't know what that equals over 2 years.

Now I'm sitting here hoping Amazon gets the pre-order and qualifying for the trade-in offer. Realistically, the trade-in is nice add-on for me, but I can hope.

I guess people are confuse about the trade in value of their phone.
You are NOT getting $200 for ANY smart phone you trade in.
Let say they appraise your phone samsung s3 at $80, samsung will double that = $160. If my crappy old smart phone worth $20, i'll get $40; if your note 2/3 worth $190 you'll get $200....from Samsung.
