67 would have made the phone bigger. That probably would have hurt sales a lot more than not having the standard.

What negative things have u heard about the Z series?
The two main things that have turned me off: Supposedly soft, easily scratchable glass; Sony generally doesn't honor the waterproofing warranty. I don't know how true either is, but it's enough to make me think twice.

Well, I'm an archaeologist so I work outside all the time. I wish all phones would have standard waterproof and dustproof by now. I currently own the LG G3 and take my phone out with me into the field. However, I have to keep it in my waterproof backpack because the phone itself isn't waterproof. It's a minor inconvenience, but not a deal breaker.

Not a deal breaker for me. Sure it's nice to have, but if it has to have those flaps, then I'm happy to pass on it.

I don't have much need to upgrade since I'm currently on an S5 Active but I did preorder it. I am still not sure if I'll go thru with the purchase though. Because:

    1. Not IP67
    2. Painted band
    3. Possible gaps
    4. Locked BL

However, the $200 Samsung preorder discount coupled with the $100 bill credit from at&t for porting my line is tugging at me really hard.

I don't think that it can be waterproof with those gaps around the screen.

Nope. Also the S-Pen would make it a little more difficult I believe.

After dropping my S5 in a river last week while fly fishing on vacation, I have decided to stick with the S5. I was taking a couple of pictures, then dropped it. I could not find it among the rocks in the river bed (Very cold water too.) for a minute. Found it on the bottom in perfect working order and has continued since.

If the Note4 was waterproof, I would make the step.

Not a deal Breaker for me. I could just get a waterproof case. But since I have not had any problems with my GNote3 not being waterproof. I really do not think I will have any problems with My GNote4.
Seidio Obex Case for the GNote3. I am sure they will make one for the Gnote4.

This is the only thing that keeps me leaning towards the Z3. I'm very active with my phones and always find the back covers wet inside.

That being said... has anyone had experience with Liquipel or any other similar coating?? It seems pricey, but worth the peace of mind if it does as it says.

The waterproof cases make the phones much larger. They also cover the screen. I prefer uncovered glass on my phones. With the S5, I am able to keep a simple cover on the phone and remain water tight.

Yep that is why they made it water resistant . The Note 4 they didn't... reason? No one knows for sure but probably something to do with the S-Pen.

I'm coming from the S5. Yes, I get it that ip67 isn't necessary, but it is pretty cool to know that it is there just in case (rain, shower, pool, etc).

Anyone else on the fence w the N4 because it lacks ip67?

I am on the fence about the matter I work in food service and I am constantly around moisture and at times particles of dust this is a big concern.

The S5 Mini was able to do waterproof without a flap on the charging port so I suppose they could've done the same with the Note 4. Not a deal breaker for me too. Who are these lucky people that can get an S5 and a Note 4 in the same year?! It's either or for me. Was just due for upgrade after my 18 months with the S4. I have to say, a phone I was never that mad about.

It's nice to have. I have it on my S5. However I don't treat the phone any differently to how I'd treat any other phone, I still keep it away from water. I don't think it's a deal breaker for me but it's nice to have. I'm all about the features/gimmicks lol
