I got tired of buying a new dock every time I switched phones, so I bought the iOttie XL that will hold any size phone (so far).

I'm with JimSmith94, I picked up the iOttie XL One touch last year and it's worked every phone I've tried so far. These include: Nexus 5, Galaxy S3, S4, Note 2, Note 3.

Wouldn't the magnet mess up the compass?

I use the Akron Mega Grip which should fit the N4. I'm currently using an S3 w/ BodyGlove Tough Suit case and I think there's plenty of room to spare. Akron has various mounting configurations for the Mega Grip, I use one that plugs into my accessory 12v power point and the mount has a mini USB cable built into it to charge the phone. They have a variety of other mounts which do not charge the phone like dash, floor & vent.

No I use this mount everyday with my Note 2 and occasionally with my Nexus 7. GPS/Navigation work perfectly fine.

These are pricey, but are the best - and use a real docking mode as well!

I have them in all of my vehicles - and it will work for a Note 4 as well.

I use, and will use a ProClipUSA mount for my Note 4. They have custom mounts for most cars, and the quality is very good. I had this for my Jeeps and will have it for my Dodge Dart.

Those look incredible, but they're pretty pricey. I assume you're getting a high quality piece for that price tag though.

After years of crappy mounts I ponied up and bought one with my last phone. The car adapter and phone mounts are two separate pieces, which makes changing vehicles or phones less expensive than the full initial purchase.

I will never use another mount. As soon as the have the GN4 one available, I'll buy it and swap out the Moto X adapter I currently have.

I've used ProClip mounts for my last three phones but it may not be an option for me if I get the Note 4. I like having a power connector on the dock, but looking at the mount options for the Note 3, I'd either have to carry the Note 4 without a case or use an Otterbox case. I guess the universal mounts with power connectors weren't very popular or too expensive to make. They discontinued of the universal mount w/power connector they used to have for the S4.

One thing I hope to do with my next phone is use it as a dash cam, so the mount has sit high enough while still complying with the restrictive dash mount laws in my state.

I use a RAM X Grip with a suction cup for my S4. I know it works with the Note3, so it should work with the Note4.
I also use it on my motorcycle.
Very sturdy. I bit expensive for a car though I guess.

I've been using this Samsung Universal car mount for my Note 2. Works great with any device up to a 6.3" screen. It's also available from Best Buy (in store or online).

So the proclip has the power connector connected to the dock? Then I just slip my phone in and it charges? Or is that wrong?
If it doesn't do that, are there any that do?

The Navigation when moving doesn't depend on the compass so it would be okay. It's when you are going slow less than 5 mph or stopped that the direction of the arrow will not be pointing in the correct direction or the map will be flipped around.

I use the Iottie and it works well. I had considered some of the more expensive mounts but those are specifics to cars and phones. The Iottie is a nice and universal one and fits all makes of phones and cars. The suction mount seems to be the better of most.

That looks really cool! Does it have enough grip to keep the phone tightly held in there and does the vent clip hold everything in place so it doesn't fall off? I want to order one of those!

I mentioned the Akron Mega Grip car mount earlier on this thread and thought I'd post a link to it. It does fit the N4 w/ a protective case.

Arkon Mega Grip Universal Smartphone Car Mounts - Best Holder and Dock for Apple iPhone 6 Plus 6 5S 5C Galaxy Note 4 3 S5 S4 Phablets

Amazon has considerably lower prices. I've used mine for 4 years in 3 cars and it looks like the day I got it. Highly recommended.

If you're considering a car dock that has charging ability keep in mind none of them that I'm aware of offers the Quick Charge 2.0 feature.
