I just want to point out something. While the Note 4 lost the USB 3.0, they made it easier to access the Micro sd card while the phone is on. This way you can unmount the SD card and stick it to your pc and get you things done fast depends on your sd card speed.
It will still be hassle especially those of us using phone case but I guess that's the only option to go if we really want fast transfer.

Not everyone wants to put their entire life in the cloud. I don't use online storage at all and although I do use Netflix for movies and such, I prefer listening to my own lossless music files because streamed music is compressed and sounds terrible. Don't assume that everyone likes and uses these services!

I'm glad it's gone. Every time I was with a friend who had a Note 3 and needed to use his charger they would be like "sorry, my charger doesn't fit normal phones".
I do understand this problem and the whole point to making micro usb a FCC requirment was because of this issue. Just link they have a 20+4 pin connector for PC mother boards they needed a micro usb with attachable and detachable 3.0. so one cable could charge both with the transfer bonuses. (to the extra part to make it 3.0 could detach)

This could be useful still with existing phones

I'm glad it's gone too. USB 3 port was so ugly on Note 3. It may be a bit slower now but it looks so much better!

Feel free to tear it off, but it won't be waterproof anymore.
