Waiting longer doesn't always mean a better product ... That is just a cleachea . If Samsung waited to announce 2 weeks before announcing .. we would have waited the same amount of time like Apple users did but get the same product correct? So time doesn't mean they're doing something extra .. It simply means they jumped the gun in trying to be the first to announcement and then waiting over a month to get it into customers hands.

As I said previously I am still getting it ... I just personally think they tried to show it all off before Apple then didn't have the supply to get it to us fast enough.
That's true, waiting longer doesn't always mean better. At least for the most part anyways. But we would be lying if we said we don't already know the Note 4 will be leagues better than the iPhone 6, because last I recall, the last generation Note is still standing strong against the i6 and even beats it in some specs.

As for you saying what if Samsung announced two weeks before release, then you know what people would have said? "Apple announced a new phone and Samsung didn't? Here's my money Apple!" You seriously think people who went with the i6 while the N4 was revealed earlier, would have not went with the i6 had the N4 not even been revealed yet?

We cannot say why didn't Samsung announce Sept 3 and release Sept 10, because like I said before, we are just consumers. It isn't exactly easy to do that. It would have been a worse marketing strategy had Samsung waited until Oct 10 to unveil the N4 to release a week later on Oct 17 to "shorten" the gap.

Oh I agree it is better .. I am willing to wait .. Just sucks since I would like to get rid of my phone and jump to a new one. It is a hobby I enjoy (Androids) so I like to upgrade each year and just hate waiting but .. Of course I will since I have to.

I have waited longer for things .. such as buying my house .. ugh :P.

people forget samsung is NOT a "phone company"; they are an electronics manufacturer/industrial equipment/mega diverse product company..

in THAT world, of TV's, blurays, etc, they announce at CES, and 3-6 months later, you can buy those new TV's and refrigerators..

Samsung will never ship any thing electronic a week or two after they are announced; they just aren't that type of company

Yeah, if we think about it, there are things we have waited for our entire lives even.

I went through college fulfilling nearly every requirement for med school, only to drop it all at the end and becoming a cop instead, because I realized law enforcement flowed through my veins and not the medical field.

Not a second of the entire journey was wasted, but filled with experiences and practicing patience. I applaud those who become doctors though, its an insane patience and stress game.

It doesnt matter. If you really want something, you wait for it, whether its weeks or months. Who cares if Samsung announced a month earlier? Do we not have other things in life to keep us busy while we wait for the device to arrive? There's people who literally bought something they never originally wanted over something they waited so long for, just because it came out earlier. Makes no sense lol.

    Patience is a virtue.
The fruit of patience is a sweet one.
I believe what Almeuit is talking about (I could be wrong haha) is that Samsung probably lost some (no idea how many so it could be a little or it could be a lot) potenial new customers or even customers that upgraded to another phone with another manufacturer.

For the people that already knew they wanted to buy the Note 4/Note 4 Edge then releasing the phone late is just a headache but nothing more. For the people that wanted the Iphone 6 or another phone it doesn't matter because they weren't coming over to Samsung anyway. This is more for people that were "on the fence" or just undecided on what they really wanted to buy and went with a phone that was in the news, on TV, being talked about a lot and something they could see/feel in person.

Any company wants to gain/keep as many customers as possible, yes I do believe Samsung should have launched earlier than mid October especially seeing how one of their biggest rivals was releasing a phone that is in the same range (doesn't have to match tech specs, technology, etc because to the "average" consumer none of that really matters like it does to people like us that go on tech sites and forums).

I fully believe that Samsung will have a great launch, I don't believe they will sell 15 million in 30 days like they want just because Apple is now playing in this area with their Iphone 6+ now and it took them 60 days last year to hit 10 million with no Iphone 6+ to bother them. I pre-ordered my Note 4 and I can't wait to have it but I can understand where the OP is coming from with their comment.

If you are trying to sell more phones in a shorter period than you did last year then I would have launched as soon after the announcement. Yes the Iphone is going to kill on launch but it always does that so I think Samsung should have just gone for it last month but maybe they didn't want the bad press if they didn't sell a lot as quickly as Apple or maybe they couldn't launch it last month because Apple had all the shipping lanes backed up?

Either way next week can't come soon enough!!!

Well obviously Samsung lost costumers, no one is arguing that. We are arguing how some people lack the most simplest of patience that they cannot even wait a month to get something they always wanted, and give in to something inferior just for the quicker gain.

There are people who wanted the Note 4 and nothing else, but because i6 came out earlier, they ended up sacrificing the N4 for the i6 "just because it was available to them a measly month earlier".

Lastly, everyone is pinning Samsung up against the wall for not releasing earlier. You really they didn't want the phone to be out and available a week after announcement? These things take time, and are a lot of headaches even for the company releasing. Samsung could have done nothing. Apple won the release race, but Samsung definitely won the quality and worth per dollar. Regardless, N4 sales will be very good and will succeed N3's no doubt, because while I can't speak for the world, I believe we have more newcomers to Samsung with the N4 than we did for N3 (at least based on personal friends and forum posts anyways).

I rather wait for a premium device than give in to impatience for a ****ty device that releases earlier.

You people have no damned sense of patience. The old days were better. And I'm only 23.
I would wait but my note 3 has become a laggy turd and battery life has declined. Also if Apple can announce and release pretty close why can't Samsung specially when most of it is done in house

I've read somewhere that Apple ties up all shipping routes like planes etc for a while after the iPhone release. Don't know if it's true but it might not be Samsung's fault...

Was it not mentioned anywhere in this thread that the iPhone 6 is out of stock with most carriers? Some waiting until Nov to be back in stock?

*I just double checked the verizon website to make sure I wasn't speeding incorrectly, and it says "will ship by 11/14/2014"

I think it's proper to assume Apple rushed theirs out, but Sammy may be making sure they have the correct stock from the start.... I'm sure Sammy could have released earlier and shipped a bunch then make many others wait...

(*yes someone might be able to make the argument that the 6 Plus is just doing much better than anyone anticipated, but still, the point stands.)

I checked just now for the 6+ that I want, it still isn't in stock at the closest 20 stores. To me, it doesn't matter much if Samsung announces a phone then waits a month and a half to sell it or apple releases a phone and it is out of stock in the variant I want both online and locally for a few weeks so far. In fact I ordered my 6+ before I ordered the n4,yet the 6+ is slated to ship after the n4. And this is even the Verizon variant which is delayed compared to the other carriers.

Yes but so what? You could get your iPhone 6 or 6 plus about a week after they announced it.... Samsung makes most of their components and could easily do the same

Just depends. My wife just ordered her iPhone 6 and I ordered my Note 4 from Verizon two days ago. They are both scheduled to ship on 10/23.

The Verizon store had a few iPhone 6 Plus in stock but no iPhone 6 in stock.

Guess I could have but not without extra effort. Similarly with extra effort, I could have had a note 4 in my hands now.

But it isn't worth it for me to exert the extra effort. I am fine waiting. Point being with ease of ordering, the time frame to get the 6+ is even longer than the note 4 for me. So it isn't readily available in all configurations.

However if someone is that anxious to get the n4,there are certainly ways... Depends on your priorities.

They may put extra work on the shipping carriers due to amount of demand but they aren't doing so much where they just mess with all the other shipments (as in stopping them).

Because of the October release I considered buying an iPhone 6 plus but decided not to.

Apple will be announcing 3 new products before Samsung releases 1 of the 2 they announced back in Berlin and Apple will be releasing it a week or 2 later. If Samsung wants to copy apple it should be their release planning lol

Its frustrating with their long release times. Look at China for the Apple, they are not getting the device right away but for the Note 4, Korea has already gotten the Note 4.

In my eyes, its all about quality and not quantity. The Isheep device is nothing more than a larger IPhone 5. Their design has not really changed all that much from the IPhone 4.

The only part that annoys me is the inability to pay using my Google wallet. I hope that they fix that in the Note 4. I would hate to upgrade to the Note 4 only to find out that my Google wallet does not work.

I like ios as much as I like android and Windows though app selection has been why I shied away from Windows phone. I was considering the iPhone 6 plus since I generally liked the device but chose the note 4. I can say Samsung has lost sales because of this long wait who got the iPhone 6 plus already
