My battery life is terrible. Exynos version.

Right now I have 29 minutes of screen on time and the battery is already at 70%. I can't figure out what is spending so much battery.
After the screen, what is spending energy is "Android System", "Android OS", "Battery standby" and "Inactive device". I can't figure out which application is spending so much. And the phone gets a bit hot when it's in my pocket doing nothing.

I haven't installed many applications, in fact I even uninstalled a lot of the ones that came with it. Please halp, how can I find out what is spending my battery?

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but on my S4 I Unselected the option in wifi settings to allow Google wifi scanning at all times even while wifi is turned off. It was eating my battery every night. Battery improved dramatically when I switched it off. Turned it off on my Note 4 now too.

Maybe try keeping it on manual for a day or two. Adjust it down until it's just bright enough to read indoors. For me, that is usually 10-20% (almost all the way to the left). I have found auto will increase CPU usage, as well as adjust the brightness more than necessary for me.

I can't claim that it is the problem, but it might help.

Trying this right now, I'm at 59% with 1h 20 minutes of on screen time... why is this so horrible?

I installed GSAM but if the thing just says Android System and Kernel are hogging up battery how can you determine from there what the cause or specefic app is?

Are you using the stock wall charger that comes with it? Or a different one. The cord is usually always a problem if its a cheap bootleg one.

I am having battery life issues as well. I have data turned off and have only been using wifi. My screen brightness is auto and I have fully charged my phone up to 100% twice. During charge, I keep my phone sleeping. At 2:20 today, my phone was at 20% so I began to charge it. It is now 9:39 and I am at 80%!! Wifi has been off since charging, and i have only texted a few times..power saving mode is on as well but It doesnt seem to be doing anything. Someone please help me! What am I doing wrong?!

BTW fast charge is checked off! It is just grayed out (I cannot uncheck it)

I'm on T-Mobile i can get anywhere from 10-14 hrs depending how heavy i use it and im a pretty heavy user. No complaints way better than my note 3 which i had to keep by the charger all day cause it would die in like 4 hrs. Also bat only goes down 3% from being unplugged for 8 hrs while i sleep

P.s. android system and os is always 20%+ for me

Try killing the Samsung quick connect app and the Samsung updates app in the background running applications. This helped my battery drain significantly.

I had the android index running 40% prior to killing the above mentioned apps and the phone would get pretty warm. Anytime you have an application eating more than the screen there's something wrong...

doesn't the image show screen time 13%?

what is interesting is, I have three GMAIL accounts (the bulk of emails) and two MAIL accounts (using the stock app) both which are IMAP, with I think 15 or 30 min sync's but they get mail immediately similar to PUSH, but I don't know where that setting is - and yet, the MAIL doesn't even show up as battery usage top 10

Alright so I was getting about 3.5 hours of on screen time. Few things I did and I'm at 58% right now with 2.5 hours on screen...

    1. Use the charger the phone came with
    2. Let your phone die completely and then charge.
    3. Turn your screen brightness off auto and adjust accordingly, I'm mostly 10-20% from the left when I'm inside

Not sure if this is what solved my issue but one of these things helped if not all..

Also I think your mobile connection will also affect your battery life

My brightness is about 50%, it seems that there is VERY LITTLE difference between about 40-60%, it just doesn't show up much change - so might as well err on the low side.
