Re: Battery life on Note 4

So here is wake lock detector on my nexus 7. I made the mistake of going into Google wallet earlier and here is the result. Nlp woke my device up 257 times between then and now. OP, please try the same.

Re: Battery life on Note 4

Mine is fabulous! Yesterday I activated at 8am. By 9:30 pm I was down to 26%. That was heavy use with downloading apps & checking the phone out. My note 3 wouldn't have lasted that long

Re: Battery life on Note 4

not at the present time

The app will continue to show as it was using the battery until you plug in and recharge. I notice from time to time an app seems to be using up the battery for no reason. A reboot usually resolves the issue.

This. If you use an app it is going to show up in the battery usage. Such as when I stream Google Music with the screen off during work -- the two things showing the most usage are the Google Music app and the Bluetooth for my headphones... This is due to those apps being the main cause of the drain on the battery. It makes sense though since I am using them for music.

I'm new to Android/touchwiz world, as I switched from Windows Phone. Can anybody advise me if there are any preinstalled bloatwares that I need to remove that might use the battery? Thanks.

So far I have not been impressed with the battery life on the note 4, so much so I had Verizon swap the phone out for a replacement yesterday...so far, not much of a difference.

I'm starting to wonder if something changed with the towers in my area causing my phone to struggle to keep a signal...?

Only thinking that because my last phone also had battery life issues (lg g2)...and I usually hover around 2 bars 4g...always have in this house.

If I could buy the Samsung battery kit I wouldn't be too concerned, one of the reasons I got the phone, but always takes Samsung months to release those accessories.

Re: Battery life on Note 4

I have Sprint and I think my battery is fine. So far, the most I got was 1 day, 1 hour with 6:18 screen on time. Light use during work hours, heavier at night. Right now I have 9hr 50 min with 4hr 16 min screen on.

Re: Battery life on Note 4

I have no glue how does someone get over 6h of screen on time. I hardly get 3 hours and I don't even use the device much. Android system and android os are the biggest battery consumers for me

I am also having battery life problems. My screen is using 37% of the battery (the next two largest battery uses are android system (18%) and android os (9%)), but yet I have screen timeout set at 30 seconds and I use auto brightness. I've used all of the recommendations to extend battery life, I use power saving mode, I clear my cache very frequently, I always close the apps that I use immediately, and I make sure to use ultra power saving mode if I know I won't be using the phone much. Despite all of my efforts, the battery life is still worse than my galaxy s4. I've turned off as many Google services as I can think of (including "Okay Google" and Google Now), and I don't use Bluetooth, location, or GPS. I'm barely using it for videos or music, but yet I am still getting poor battery life. Does anyone know what I can do to decrease screen battery usage and to increase the overall battery life? Thank you!

Re: Battery life on Note 4

I'm on my 3rd Note (2,3,and 4). Generally I have had pretty good battery life with the Note series. The Note 4 has been far superior to the other phones. I usually buy the spare battery charger and was disappointed to see it was back ordered. Now that I've used the phone for 2 weeks I'm certain I can save money by not buying the extra battery. Today I had moderate usage with over an hour playing music while driving, using the flashlight for around 30 minutes, brightness set to 40%. Not using power saving mode I am at 33% after approx 17 hours since I took it off of the charger. I'm on Att with decent coverage.

Re: Battery life on Note 4

I came into the note line with high expectations, and so far I've been fairly pleased with my battery life. It is clearly far superior to any other phone I've personally used, but that isn't necessarily saying much. I've chronicled each day since I picked it up and it seems that 6 hours of screen on time is the sweet spot, however long it takes to reach that mark is how long the battery will last for the most part. The great thing for me has been that yes the battery lasts a good while, but it also charges insanely fast. I can throw it on the charger and go eat some dinner and afterwards have more then enough battery % to get me through an all nighter if I wanted. Anyways here's my results.

edit: in the preview it listed them as being shown side by side, sorry about elongating the page.

I have the sprint N4 and get awesome battery life.
I'd say so, those look like the most ridiculous numbers I've heard of yet. How you managed 8 hours of screen on time is beyond me (though it shows it jumped from a low % to ~100% and doesn't climb like with regular charging so did you swap batteries? If so it would seem that at least an hour of battery time [and screen on time?] would be taken off considering the chart is ~20 hours of time condensed). Im impressed, any suggestions?
