I haven't called anyone yet. Too late for that tonight. I have no idea. I've been babying it and then the screen started tearing. I knew something was wrong. And all day to set it up. Now I get to do it all over again.

That sucks. That reminds me of when I bought a brand new Sony TV. Took it out of the box, used it for 4 hours, then all of a sudden, it developed diagonal lines on the screen. They exchanged it for a new one.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna be up early tomorrow to get to one of the Verizon stores. Not the one where they treat me like [inappropriate language edited by Moderator] though.

That blocked lettering for the clock looks like HTC's skin on their android phones. What happens when you do a factory restore on the device via the boot menu (as opposed to trying to navigate through the settings menu)?

I'm using HD Widgets for the clock and weather. That sounds like an idea, but I'm not sure I'd want a phone that did this once. Even after reset it may do it again.

If you preordered it online good luck getting a store to replace it, they will tell you to call customer service to replace it. Sometimes you get lucky and they do it.

I had one time the store told me they didn't have one in stock, while he was giving me my options, which was to call customer service, the rep next to him walked in the back room and brought out the exact phone I was just told they didn't have for another customer. They want to keep those phones for sales so they can make their commission.

Good luck

I'm going to try a certified reseller instead of a larger store. Maybe I'll be luckier there.
