I have been using it on my lockscreen and it is working pretty damn well! Took a couple of days of trying but I seem to have gotten the right swiping tempo where I now rarely have to swipe a second time. (Knock on Wood).

I hated it on the S5 that I'm afraid to set it up. LOL

I tried it multiple times and even watched YouTube videos for tips and was still only at 60% success rate.

I was busy with work all weekend, I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

I think it helps to be imaginative when setting the 10 scans. Use every angle and a couple times you think you will use most. My scanner is as easy as the swipe, it is simply on another part of the screen and with a little finesse.

It actually works pretty well. Sometimes I forget "how" to do it, but once my muscle memory kicks in, I will get it on the first try all the time.

I had the finger print lock screen enabled but disabled it and went back to the no security swipe screen I typically use. The problem was not the effectiveness of the finger print scanner... It worked fine. The problem was me. I never fully realized how much I use/glance at my phone at odd angles until I had to scan my finger print in a particular direction to unlock the device.

I would say it works a solid 90-95% of the time pretty good imo

Hated it on the S5, gave it another shot on the Note 4 on day one and haven't shut it off.

    Huge improvement.

after all the negative comments, I was prepared for the scanner to really suck. Decided to give it a few days... the first day was difficult but after that I rarely have an issue. The wife has an iPhone 6 and she has about the same level of issues (only once in a while) as I do with the scanner on the Note 4.

    Pleasantly surprised.

I've been very pleased with it. It's my first experience with a fingerprint scanner and I've been pleasantly surprised with the success rate.

The scanner works 90% of the time for me...I would be happy with 75%...I have both thumbs scanned

I hated it at first. I guess I was setting it up wrong the first day I tried it. I read the other post on it and paid close attention to the demos on the Phone, and figured out how to get the fingerprints registered. Was getting a lot of errors the first time about not hitting all of the button, or not a match. Tonight got it right and now it works most of the time. I think it's just getting the technique of sliding you finger down. Not bad now that I'm using it correctly. Time will tell if I kept that or not. I do like to just swipe the screen.

Wish I could figure it out. It frankly drives me insane...when I register my thumb(s) everything looks great but when i try to actually unlock using my thumb I get like 5% success rate. It says..."slow down", "faster", "middle", blah blah blah. The touchid iphone 6 and 6+ I tried for 2 weeks basically worked perfect w/about 99% success so I don't know what's up.
Maybe I should take the case off? try try again

It would be nice if you didnt have to swipe your finger; I can only get it to work about half the time. I wont be using it.

Works perfect with my Right index finger. My Right Thumb is giving me problems. I have re-trained it several times.

Mine doesn't work the first time every time but a lot of the time it does. I like it a whole lot better than entering a 6 digit code especially in the car.

Does it drive anyone else crazy get the:

You have incorrectly attempted to unlock the screen 1 time. If you attempt to unlock the screen incorrectly 4 more times, your backup password will be required.

After receiving that message, I don't even get to make a second attempt (which believe me is required often on mine), I have to now look at that message and touch on 'OK' to dismiss it and now try again. That is fueling my frustration with the fingerprint scanner. Is there a way to turn off that message?

I love it, it is working very well for me. Had issues at first til I learned to use the same swiping motion all the time. Now I barely have a fail.

It does work quite well. not as simple as touch ID, but performance wise in the 90%+ range. I found it best to redo my thumb, making sure to capture slides on the sensor from the side, and angled, since when holding the note 4 one handed, you're most likely going to have the thumb sliding down sideways or at an angel. But, after re-doing it, it works quite well indeed.

Tried it several times after getting my Note yesterday. No matter how conscientious I am with swiping, there always seems to be some sort of error. Either I'm swiping to fast, not getting enough of the scanner, etc. I probably need more practice but it certainly doesn't seem to work reliably enough to use it as my unlock method.

Still struggling with it here too. God forbid your device is locked and you need to make an urgent call... Especially if it locks in a car holder.... I tried to unlock repeatedly to report a drunk driver on the local police number .... Even after I pulled over and disconnected the charging cable and tried with index finger and thumb alternately.... I could not get it for bunch of tries.... Then you keep getting the error message that you have to dismissed in poured to keep trying.... Frustrating. Am going to redo my prints from scratch for a fourth time and see if I do any better.
