Auto for sure. In bright sunlight auto kicks the brightness way higher than the max manual brightness setting. Love that.
I've had mine set to auto as well, the battery is very good so I'm not having any issues. I just noticed the direct sunlight mode this weekend and all I can say is wow! Very impressive.
I'm sure letting it run that high for an extended period would be very hard on the battery, but I was outside all day Saturday and this super bright mode kicked in when needed. I still got through the day with plenty of battery.

How do you get that auto brightness adjustment bar? Mine has no such thing, verizon note 4.
I noticed mine got the auto brightness adjustment bar after I rooted and installed wanam xposed. Not sure if it was there before lol just what I noticed

Love the screen on this beast and even removed the annoying Quick Connect and S finder out of the way!

I agree, today I began using my phone at 5AM on full brightness and kept it like that to see how fast it would drain the battery, it is now after 1PM and I am at 20% battery. Time to plug in the fast charger! Auto is definitely great but sometimes I will take auto off and manually put it up to max just because how vibrant and gorgeous the screen is lol :P

Actually I noticed today since I had the brightness on max every time I was using it, the battery lasted a good day, I came home with 15% battery and power saving was nice, especially for those times where you NEED to have a phone :P
