I registered my finger prints on my new Note 4,then chose fingerprint scan as my method to unlock my phone. It never sticks beyond the next unlock, no matter what I do. It resets to screen swipe to unlock, and will occasionally randomly as me to input my unlock code. It never stays on fingerprint reader. How do I fix this, so it requires a fingerprint every time to unlock?

    * I've tried setting the lock time to "instantly" and even tried a variety of lock times, and this seems to make no difference... It still continues to reset to "swipe."

I had "finger" set and it worked fine. Changed to "pin" and now I don't get the option to change methods. Samsung says to just touch Lock Screen but I just get the "change pin" screen. No matter what I set lock time to I can't change it. Maybe we both need a bug fix update?

Ok. I can change the method after I enter the pin. The method changing on you sounds odd. Have you changed the method to swipe or whatever and then tried to set finger? How about changing the finger?

Yes, I arranged to have my password as backup of the fingerprint--which rarely works--and now find myself facing the very annoying password every time I want to go in. And although the instructions say that I can go into my screen lock settings, all I get when that happens is the password setup. It's becoming excruciating just to get in and out of my phone.

Are you getting to password setup (with no other options) or is the phone asking you to enter your password? If you want to make changes to your screen lock options, you have to go to Settings>Lock Screen>Screen Lock>then swipe your fingerprint in order to make any changes.
