Switch from one to the other and made one the default but all old and new emails still go into the old App.
The top one is the old one.

Sorry, I don't quite understand what you're showing in the post. Are you saying you have two versions of Gmail installed? This shouldn't be possible, since updating Gmail should still just give you one version of Gmail to use. Or are you saying that your emails are still going to the stock Email app, and not Gmail?

I'm sorry, but I really don't understand what the problem is here... What are you trying to accomplish or what has been giving you issues?

Both were on my phone. I prefer the bottom one so I made it the default Mail service. Problem is that all of my mail still goes to the top one. So I uninstalle the top one and the bottom (default one) says no mail.

Oooh OK, got it. The top one is the GMail app and that, unless you got the 5.0 update, can only handle GMail, not any other external apps.

The second one is your stock e-mail app. Setting it as the default only means that your phone will open that app when composing an e-mail instead of GMail, it doesn't mean that it'll download your e-mail to that app. You have to configure it for that. There should be an ADD ACCOUNT setting somewhere in that app so that you can start downloading your e-mail to the stock app.

Seems to me the OP wants to use the stock email app for their Gmail instead of using the Gmail app.

Which you can also do, you just need to add the account to the stock e-mail app
