Plastic or tempered glass screen protectors

There has been a lot of discussion in this forum regarding the problems of using tempered glass screen protectors because of the halo effect. Has anybody concluded that using a plastic screen protector, while not ideal, is better than having a halo effect.

I could only talk for myself, I have tried the iloome glass screen protector and it didn't work out for me. So I went and got the icarez screen protector that are plastic and it worked out for me. It's a shame that something that cost 5.99 worked better than something that cost 15.99....
