First off, loving my N4. Wouldn't change to anything else on market right now, but I have been a little disappointed with the call speaker quality. I have noticed a little distortion at upper volume levels. I just wrote it off as a small annoyance, I have noticed it on other phones before. But the other day I set my senior mother's iPhone 6 Plus up for her and when we were testing call quality I noticed how much cleaner and clearer the sound was. I mean, a real noticeable difference.
Have others noticed this on their N4? If this is just a bad QC speaker on mine and no one else is having this issue, I will take it back in and exchange it for another N4. But if this is just the quality limit of the speaker used, I can deal with it.

I have the SM-N910F and calls are crystal clear. This won't help you directly but gives an idea that their may be a fault in your device perhaps.

Thanks Duncan, that's exactly what I'm trying to qualify or disprove. Btw, I'm on a SM-N910VZ (Verizon).

I have noticed this too. I've got a N910A (Att) and it's random. At first I thought I just had the volume up too loud, but it didn't change when lowered.

Yeah, it's getting annoying. Think I'll be taking it in for an exchange soon. I've been noticing it at lower volumes too. Just a slight buzzing at certain voice registers, and volume doesn't seem to matter too much.

Just an update for anyone curious about Samsung service....imho, it sucks. I sent in my Note 4 and after a few days got a return notice saying it had been checked out, software updated, and shipped out. The unit arrived, I unpacked it, popped in the battery, got everything up and running and made a test call. Same issue! No difference at all. I made a few more calls to verify and then called Samsung back. Explained my situation and was told to send it back in.
Now I'm into my third week without my Note 4. I received four different calls from Samsung verifying the issue. Each time the tech called, they were misinformed as to what my issue was. For example, the final tech called and asked, "now, what exactly is wrong with your bluetooth?".
To wrap it up, the phone is now on its way back to me again, and they did NOTHING to fix it! Nada. So I will be getting the same problem back again. They just quietly closed the ticket, popped it in a shipping box, and got rid of the problem again. Easier for them to send it back and hope I'm too frustrated to send it back in then to just replace a $1 speaker and make a customer happy.
Last Samsung product ever. Too bad, was planning to buy one of their 4K TVs next month as well.

No issue here on the T-Mobile Note 4 -- I use speakerphone when in the car (lay the phone on my lap). -- Versus my iPhone 6 + it sounds pretty much the same to me (I am no sound expert) but .. I can hear them and they can hear me without strain.

Thanks for the reply Almeuit. It's not the speakerphone but the receiver speaker that you put to your ear. Looks like it will be getting replaced. I called back in to complain and finally got my call elevated to a manager. They tried to tell me that it must be my Verizon service in the area. When I told them that my other friend with a note 4 on Verizon did not have the same issue and could hear the issue on my phone, they finally agreed to put in a special order and go ahead and replace the speaker. They pulled my phone from shipping out today. Happy to finally be getting a resolution (I hope), just sorry it has taken so much grease to get the wheel turning.
