I have posted this same question on xda-developers, and there appears to be no answer, so I am hoping one of you can help me. On my stock Verizon Note 4, when I begin an action memo, I don't see the thumbtack or pin icon at the top of the memo next to the check mark and x where it is supposed to be. It doesn't show up whether I am starting a new memo or editing an old one. Without the pin, I cannot pin the memo to a screen. I have seen the pin icon when I searched youtube for an S Pen overview. But it is no where to be found on my own memos. Any idea how to make this show up?On my S Pen where is the Thumbtack?-screenshot_2014-11-08-07-40-58.jpg

Are you using Touch Wiz? It doesn't pin with a 3rd party launcher such as Nova.

Someone at xda just solved it. With any launcher other than TW, it doesn't work. My problem was that I didn't know I was using a launcher. I was using Home2Shortcut which simply allows a doublepress of the home key to run any app. That somehow is perceived as a launcher by TW and, as a result, the thumbtack disappears from S Pen. Upon uninstall of Home2Shortcut and a reboot, all is good.

As posted on another thread you can either minimize the note or open S note thru the multi-tasking window and use the option to Collapse Note. Either way it will collapse the note into an icon for your screen. You can't read it till you open it but it's there.
