Probably December or January. If you're on VZW, you'll get the notification to upgrade to lollipop on your N4 roughly 2 months after the release of the Note 6.

I am in the process of making my Note 4 self aware.

Normally I would say dont hold your breath with Samsung updates, but...

Considering Samsung already teased it back on I think October 30th via twitter and considering the note 4 was released at almost the same time as lollipop, I would be willing to bet no later than December.

Those with S5's and Note 3's will be lucky to see it by spring 2015.

Honestly, I think it will be here December or january.

However, I am not expecting a huge UI change. Something tells me the only true material design is going to come from near stock versions of android.

LG already has their update going in Poland for the G3.... looking at some videos, it wasn't that big of a change and maybe that's why it was able to be upgraded so quickly.

Actually with the motos at least they were first to KitKat. Though, usually, yes...slow.

Again though, with the note 4 launching around the same time as lollipop I'm betting it will be pretty fast.

Tack on carrier approval and realistically you're looking at March or April.

At best.... Come on people... Can't we somehow collectively find a way to force the carriers out of the process.

Why are some people in such a rush to get this update? I mean with all the bugs it may have with the release all people are going to do is complain about this and the other... That why I wait a month or so before I update

Apparently you haven't tried to use TW on your Note 4 very much. It's not perfect, but it is definitely the best version of TW Samsung has developed. Unless you are bound and determined to customize your home screens, TW is "good enough" to be a daily use item.

Sadly no -- they are allowed to add bloat and stuff so they can hold the update while they get all that in and working.

It's kind of a mixed blessing to get updates quickly, to be honest. When I was using my Nexus 5 on Lollipop right after it came out I ran into many bugs and issues with certain apps. My wife, who still has a Nexus 5, is running into trouble as well and my dad actually rolled back to KitKat due to bugs.

Well, they're allowed only because Google and/or the specific manufacturers haven't negotiated for them to stop. Apple got their iPhones on carriers without letting them add any bloat (because they have the monopoly on iDevices). Since there are so many Android devices, it would take *all* the manufacturers getting together or a huge push by Google to stop carrier bloat, and that's extremely unlikely to happen.
