So I bought a song on Google Play, but it's only available in that app and not within the regular music app.

Is this song "on my phone", or am I streaming it everytime??

I think unless you download the song its being streamed.

You have to tap on the menu dots for each song and choose keep on device. Should have a little thumb tack icon that turns orange when you tap it. This syncs it to your phone. Otherwise you are streaming every time.

Just go to the Google play store on your computer then log onto your account then download it into your computer then copy it to your phone.

So NEVER purchase music via the play store because it's virtually impossible to make that song available to other music apps. Got it.....

As far as I'm concerned that's a fatal flaw in the process...I already have to jump backwards through flaming hoops to get my music from itunes onto my Note 4. WHY on Earth would I want to create that headache on 2 platforms?

This is why I just purchase songs from amazon.

I am in the process of making my Note 4 self aware.

If telling the phone to download the song is so inconvenient maybe you should go to iOS where they just push music to your device without your permission.

I have NEVER had an issue telling my phone to download music from Google Play Music and having it available in other apps.

It is possible. It just has to be done with the computer. The process is fairly simple. You

It's simple to have music transferred from iTunes to Google music as well.

Sure, I understand that...I'm looking for a simpler process.

Contrary to what [languaged removed by moderator] would have you believe, I'm not an apple fanboy, I'm just new to Android......and IMO this process IS easier on their platform.

The help was offered previously. Tap the 3 dots and hit download. If you bought it, it is then downloaded and available on any music player on your device.

Be polite. We ask that you keep your language clean and polite.
Be understanding and patient. You may be a power user or developer, but the person you’re talking to on the other end may be a complete newbie. Be patient, and provide all details possible if you’re posting about a problem (descriptive thread title always helps).
Be a pro. Don’t get into arguments over dumb things. If someone responds in a poor or rude fashion, ignore it. If you notice a pattern of rude or poor behavior from a particular member, report them to our moderators. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. In a nutshell, ‘think before you post’.
Be attentive and helpful. Answer questions in a timely manner when you can, and provide thoughts and suggestions that might lead to the solution of a members’ problem.

It is a [language removed by Moderator]having to download it to your computer first. However this is why I buy 99% of my music from Amazon. I'll only buy from Google play if the music is not available to buy from Amazon or it's significantly cheaper on Google play.
