    Hi all,
I bought 2 Note 4 this week. One for me, and one for my wife. When setting up, everything went fine for both. Problems begins with my wife's one when Gmail made the updates. Account are well registered, but we receive a text : "Unknown problem with Google play services" and it closes! If I uninstall the updates it's functioning again... till Google send the updates again...
    Mine continue functioning pretty good.
Does some else got this problem, or know what to do?
Is it possible to completely uninstall Gmail and reload it? I guess this should solve my problem.
    Already thanks for your answers.
    Bob

Have you tried clearing the cache of Google Play Services (Not uninstalling the GMail updates)?

    Hi SpookDroid, thanks for answer.
I just did but nothing change. As from now I let the problem as it is (waiting THE solution) because we have the possibility to look at the mails on other devices, but of course I need a long term solution .
If you have another idea, welcome!

You might want to also considering doing a factory reset to see if that clears up the issue. I know that is a PITA choice, but it might resolve the problem.

OK Latufu, as you say it's the worth case. I only will do this if nobody can help me with something easier. But it's better going back to factory setting after a few day of use than one year, I agree!

OK, do you have any updates available for Google Play Services? If so, what I'd do is keep the GMail update, clear cache from Play Services and Uninstall Updates. Reboot and let it update itself. See if that helps.

No updates were done for Services Google Play. So no uninstal available. I already cleared the cache. I again made the updates for Gmail, restart device. No change. Gmail is functioning without the updates!

Alright, try this now. Sign out of the GMail app. Just leave it there, 'accountless'. Is the error popping up still?

My philosophy as a dealer for years - if it's new and something doesn't work, get it replaced. The carrier or store doesn't care, Samsung takes the hit. If they ship a phone that has a problem, that's their fault, so it's their problem.
