After yesterday's update the fingerprint scanner refused to recognize either my registered fingerprint or backup password. Thankfully I did not have anything setup to use it since it had been pretty sketchy before the update but I would like to resolve this issue and try registering fingerprints again.

It goes straight to the backup password which it says is incorrect now.

I have done everything I can think of short of a factory reset to resolve the issue and would appreciate any suggestions, certainly there must be a way to reset the password via an email link or something like that????

Login to Android Device Manager via a computer. From there you can choose to setup a new password which should override the old one.

Thank you. That didn't offer any solution so I called Verizon and apparently the only solution is to to a factory reset, which I will do at some point after life settles down a bit, or when it decides to lock me out of the phone. Everything else appears to be working just fine so I don't see any rush.
