I believe it was yesterday, that while turning off wifi, I accidently turned off location services as well. I turned it back on a little while after I realized my weather wasn't updating. Once I turned it back on, I swear that everytime I check the time on my phone, the little location thing is up there on the top and then it goes away after a few seconds. If I bring the notifications down it days searching using GPS everytime I unlock my phone. After a few seconds it goes away. Any ideas?
It is probably the weather app. How often do you've it to auto refresh? But as long as you've the location on, apps that requires it will always use it.
Set it to Power Saving unless you're going to do navigation outdoors or you REALLY need accuracy. High accuracy mode polls for GPS satellites to achieve accuracy. The phone won't find any indoors so it's just a waste of battery to try.
I leave my GPS on HIGH accuracy, as I did on my last three Android phones. I'm not having any battery issues. The few times I have had battery issues, they were all related to other things.

That's fine but since we all have the ability to install whatever applications we choose to on our devices there's always the likelihood that each device will perform differently. The OP stated clearly in the first post that the GPS indicator stayed on indicating that an application was constantly trying to use GPS. Switching to power saving mode for location is a quick fix for this. A better fix is to review location access to see what applications may be trying to get location and uninstall each one by one to find the culprit.
In all likelihood the weather application the OP is referring to is the issue. If OP doesn't travel much setting the location manually for the weather application is an option to eliminate the app using GPS.
