Hi guys, I am new to the forum.
I have galaxy s note 4, I have been using for 2 months.
I checked my disk usage, I realize there's 1.5 gb left. I notice that s-note app itself is using 11GB!
I have a few notes, most of are exported from iphone. I check from my laptop This PC\SAMSUNG-SM-N910A\Phone\SnoteData directory, notes data only occupy 21mb. Is there any way to check from the phone itself?
And I dont think app itself is 11gb? I didnt install any template or any extra feature.
Any help to understand this abnormal disk usage?

    Thank you!

you don't have the latest version of S Note (I have 4.0.1412.2). The values are very strange: the app size should be more than 0, and the data is huge. I suggest to update the app. If the problem remains, try to delete all the data (after backup).

You should be able to go to "Galaxy Apps" in the app drawer and open it, then pull up s note. It will tell you if it's up to date.

Thank you MightyMike & Hielko. I updated to version 4.0.1412.2. Data size is still same. Application size now shows up and it is 44.47 MB. I guess I will have to delete notes data.

check again the files in the snotedata storage. There must be something very big there. Else create a backup and remove all your notes. I'm curious!

Hey you are welcome! If you have a hookup to the comp or Bluetooth on your comp, and need to keep them, just slide them over...well...which ever one is So BIG. I think you can move the notes like that, Not sure. That is how I move my pics. Good luck to you!

There is something certainly wrong with that app. I check mine and in addition to being up to date, is only 48MB in size.

I backed up note files to pc. Then I deleted all the notes but the size was still 11gb. Then pressed "clear data" in the app info window and data size went from 11gb to 0. then I copied my note files from backup. now app is using 162 mb. much better than before. There's certainly some overhead somewhere as note files are only 28 mb, app is 44mb, I can't figure out what the rest 90 mb is.

Well good. It's a ton better than it was. Not perfect, but a bunch of gigs better.

Mine does the same thing. With almost identical numbers. I don't have many notes. I'll try what you did. Thanks!

I had the same situation; S Note's data grew to a mind-boggling 19 GB! It was becoming sluggish, and I was running out of room for other apps and data. Not what I expected from a phone that until then had been an improvement on my Note 1 in virtually every way.

I only noticed this after I had deleted my Samsung account to deal with an (AFAIK) unrelated syncing issue between my Note 1 and Note 8.0. To my surprise this deleted the S Note files on the phone as well. Pretty glad I'd backed up SnoteData... (I would strongly, strongly recommend copying that folder to a PC before doing anything to S Note. No need to use Kies or anything, you can just connect the phone as a media device.)

It was then I noticed that S Note's data was still enormous, even without any actual notes. So I deleted the data in the application manager, and restored the notes from the SnoteData copy. (Perhaps they would restore automatically if they were in your Samsung account, but I wouldn't depend on that.) Now it runs like new, and I have 16 GB of storage free again!

I don't know if this will work if you don't also delete any Samsung account backups, but I'm glad it can be fixed relatively easy. Now I just wonder what the hell caused it...

Hey... did a search for a similar problem on the Samsung 10.1 2014 Edition. Ended up making a copy of the files I needed, cleared the data, and all was fine. Weird thing was that the few files I had on there were still there... so... not sure what was happening there.

Just thought I'd share the experience. Thanks for the tip!

Had the same issue with a Galaxy Note 3. Did all the backing up just in case. Found that all I had to do was go to the app in app manager and hit the Clear data. It reset the s note app. Restarted the phone, opened s note and made all the initialization settings. Then it found and reloaded all my notes. Surprised they were still there. Memory use is back to normal and everything works better.

    Hi !
I found the same thing while trying to restore my S-Note data from a Titanium Backup ...

S-Note stores a history on each and every note created under (root)data/data/com.Samsung.android.snote ...
I found that in there are several versions to each note including all Images, texts and Sound files added...

Eventhough S-Note needs that data therein, you can wipe that folder (which you can do manually or by clearing the app´s data).

Currently (having lost my data in a factory reset and not being able to restore the notes with Titanium) I try to recreate the .SPD-files to the folder emulated/0/snotedata from that folder, so I am glad it is there in the first place...

BTW: Does anybody have any experience with this ???? Would be glad to get any help there might be...

    All the best,
    Andreas
