In a couple of hours, I'll be setting up this new Note 4 (coming from a Note 2). Verizon

As I go through the setup prompts, are there any things I need to watch out for? For example, should I avoid "allowing" things.... should I say "no" to anything in particular that is going to bog my phone?

I'm hoping that, if I make any common error, I can undo it later.

So, any tips? or links to tips?

Mainly, I want to avoid signing up for crapware that will harass me eternally!

....once done, I'll venture into the world of Nova Launcher although I really like the idea of pinning S-notes to the screen. My understanding is that is the few things that one loses when going to Nova.

Basically just READ the prompts before you click yes or no! Can't speak for Verizon phones since mine is T-Mobile, but those prompts won't install bloatware that's not already in your phone. In my case the only thing, I think, is if you want to use their diagnostics tool (but I think this is prompted when you open the MyTMobile app, not at initial setup though).

Anyway, yes, when switching to a new launcher, you lose TW-Specific widgets, including the S-Note ones (when you pin a note to the homescreen it's actually creating a widget).

I have a Verizon Note 4, and I can't think of any "gotchas" to watch out for. It was fairly straightforward doing the setup, as I recall.

I do, however, have an observation from my time reading these forums. As you copy things to your new SD card, you may see the indexing service begin to use up battery time. That's not unusual and it should stop after some time. How much time? That can vary depending on what and how much you put on the SD card. Just don't freak out if you see it lasting a few days. I should mention, though, that there have been reports of possibly corrupt files (PDFs mostly) causing the indexing service to hang and run for more than just a few days. Personally, I have never seen the indexing service using a large percentage of my battery like others have reported.

I get excellent battery life on my Note 4. A couple weeks after setting mine up, I was able to run on battery for about 35 hours with more than 8 hours screen on time with my typical usage (phone, email [3 accounts], web, the occasional Euchre game, S-notes, podcast playback).

    Good luck and enjoy.

Turn off and force stop DT Ignite. See this for more: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sam...lete-them.html

Also here's a list of apps you may wish to turn off/disable: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sam...-disabled.html
Of course. How could I have forgotten about DT Ignite. Absolutely turn that bugger OFF ASAP before you start uninstalling or disabling pre-installed apps.
