Is there a way to turn off or remove nearby devices within my gallery app. Its really annoying. I have NFC off.

Sorry, but I'm not entirely familiar with how the Note 4 accesses nearby devices. If your NFC is turned off, could it be detecting those devices on your WLAN?

-Settings
-Nearby Devices (which shows under "Connect and Share" if you have tabs on
-OFF

Is that what you are looking to disable? It's scanning via WiFi, not NFC.

Huh.

I tried turning that feature on then shut down and restarted Gallery, and saw a list of devices for the very first time. I then turned it back OFF and the list persisted. I had to go back into settings and turn it ON then back OFF again, and pull up the recently-used apps list and swipe away Gallery, for the list to go away again.

Looks like it's trying to persist the list of nearby devices.

So it's not just me then. It could be a bug huh, that's the only thing that annoys me because I don't want other peoples computers or phones showing up there 😒

Are all of those nearby devices familiar to you? Are they all on your local wi-fi network, or other wi-fi networks you connect to (like one at a friend's or family member's house)? I still wonder if they're just computers connected to the same WLAN, which means you wouldn't necessarily have strange computers showing up on your device.

It would be like if you connected your Windows laptop to a wi-fi network and joined the Homegroup. In Windows Explorer, you would then see all of the devices that are connected in that Homegroup.

I made it go away by toggling the "nearby devices" on and off a few times then force-closing Gallery to make sure it read the setting properly. Did you try that?
