Has anyone had any issues with their battery draining overnight on their Samsung Galaxy Note 4 after the recent lollipop update? I normally make sure my battery is at 100 percent before I go to bed and before the update I would only use about 8% of the battery while I'm sleeping now with the update I use about 20% overnight with not even using it. Before I go to bed I always make sure there are no apps running and everything is turned off, it kind of disappoints me that I had better battery life prior to the update. I have gone as far as to doing a factory reset and it still does the same thing.

That is odd. Most of the reports I have read are stating an average of 20 - 30 percent increase in battery life.

well... i am not sure if its gotten better with lollipop or worser.
so i dont think there is much difference.

i am using it for a weak or 4 now and overall i like it !

last week i installed a wakelock detector and it seemed that google play services was draining my battery.
i flashed to CM12 then, i used that for a day and then i used my nandroid backup to get back to stock lollipop.
after that the battery drain of the play services was gone and now im still on lollipop !

I've been running the German 5.01 ROM for a few weeks now. Battery has been great up until now. After a little disabling of apps I didn't use, I was averaging a whole days full use with around 30-40% battery left. Usually 4 or 5 hrs SOT. All good.

Then last night it drained 25% completely out of the blue! I disabled the usual culprits (Facebook etc) rebooted, cleared caches, but checking my power saving graph it looks like something is now keeping it awake every few minutes.

I'm guessing a recent update to an app must've thrown a spanner in the works.

    do a cache wipe
    reboot a couple of times
    turn off sync
turn off data when not in use.

My Note 3's battery improved by 10% after lollipop, standby overnight only drop 0-1%.

I noticed the same problem. After update on AT&T Note 4, seeing battery life reduced to 5 hours which was used to be 15 hours before.

Having issues here as well. I know it's one 24 hours now. I did clear cache and reboot a few times. This also includes a quick 20 minute car charge in the evening.

If you do that , you have to set the phone back up ? New yo the process.

And fo you this the same as clearing cache partition?

Factory reset clears all photos and music that you have stored on the internal memory. It also clears contacts and all of the apps that you have downloaded. It is different to clearing the cache partition. So you have to set the phone up again.

Do a back up with lies beforehand and restore afterwards.

Kies. Predictive text doesn't like it. Backs up personal data.

I have lollipop for a week now and have not noticed any difference with battery life/usage.
I have however noted that the cellular signal gets lost periodically requiring the phone to be restarted. I have reported this to the service provider, Vodacom, but have not yet had a reply.

I do not think there was an increase in battery life on the note 4 upgrading to lollipop. Those are substantial percentages and I can say first hand that isn't the case.

I've noticed that the battery usage screen no longer shows how long the device has been off the charger. Is this an ATT thing?

I think it is carrier specific, mine does show. And I I didn't factory reset and my battery has been the exact same if not marginally better than before.

Battery life after lollipop is much worse. I spent the time and hassle to do a factory reset but the battery life has still remained poor. Went from about 20 hours down to about 12.

By the way, why doesn't the update actually improve the device? "Clear the cache..." Shouldn't the update do that for the user if it is so necessary?

Doesn't matter what OS (Android, iOS) it is, there are going to be those who have a seamless update that does "improve" their device. Others experience nightmares when upgrading. I have friends with iPhones who still haven't updated to iOS 8 because of all the issues that came with it.

For me, the Lollipop update is a double-edged sword. Speed has improved noticeably but battery performance is worse compared to KK. I'm trying all the various tips (reboot, clear cache, etc) and they have helped but not as much as I'd like.
