Note 4 vs Note 3

My dad wants to buy a new phone. He is wondering should he buy a Note 3 and save money or is it really worth to pay more for the Note 4?

I have a Note 4 and I love it but don't know anything about the Note 3 to comment

Please advice him.

He's just a casual user that likes to take a few photos now and then, use whatsapp and Viber and Facebook

Battery life will be about the same.

I think the general idea right now is if u have a note3, the note4 isnt a big jump, however if your going to buy one, i say go ahead and get the note4. Heres why

The note3 has the 3.0 adapter that wound up being useless,
The note4 has fast charging and the battery life is about the same. (The note4 has a slightly bigger battery, but the quad HD screen offsets it, so they are pretty much the same.)
The spen is improved, copy and paste is sooo much easier.
I like that when in on a call the note4 lets me minimize to a floating widget.
Speaker quality is much louder on the note4. Not htc music quality, but louder and clearer.
The fingerprint scanner is iffy, i dont use it.. the note5 will be better lol
There is some junk that was removed on the note4 that that 3 had, so less clutter.

Theres more im sure, but these are the main points for me.

Oh, the camera is quite a bit better than the 3, i use the camera a lot on my phone and the 4 is a good step forward

If he gets the 3, he will be jealous of your note4 lol. My mom has the note3 and after playing w mine she wants a 4. So why not get the newest and be done lol

My thoughts on the Verizon Note 4 advantages over Verizon Note 3:
-Significantly better battery life
-Significantly better radio, especially in lower signal areas.
-Runs substantially cooler
-Charges significantly faster with adaptive charging.
-Significantly easier to read outdoors
-Camera is a MAJOR improvement in low light/motion shots. Note 4 has OIS.
-Added fingerprint scanner (can be a bit finicky to use)
-Added Heartrate monitor
-Usage of Google "always listening" even when screen is off. Note 3 only had S-Voice always listening

Minor points:
-Added aluminum frame
-QHD

Cons:
-Marginally heavier (I didn't really notice it)
-No USB 3.0 (slower transfer speeds)
-A hair taller (I didn't really notice it)
-Speaker on the back

I like the 3 but there are upgrades to the 4 that make it a much better buy. There just isn't a good reason to purchase the 3 over the 4...
