I'm getting ready to purchase my next Android phone. Have had a Nexus 4 for almost 2 years now and love it, but I've been crushing on the Note 4 since it came out. Just been saving money to get an unlocked one from T-Mobile but now the S6 is out and it is beautiful.

I like the Note 4 because of the large screen and the S Pen features. I think they will come in handy for business. But I love the higher specs and design of the S6.

So my question is if you had to choose between the Note 4 and S6 which would you choose and why? If you went from a Note 4 to an S6 what's the experience like for you now?

    Hey Mikey,

I'll just say that in terms of Note 4, the reason I picked up was especially due to the Waccom Pen with 2048 pressure. It never goes wrong with this pen when you are taking notes during a meeting or you are sketching in Autodesk Skectchbook, it can also be used as a mouse pointer on the phone as well as many other things it can do like playing games and etc.

When it comes down to Note 4 vs S6. I always ask people do you want a 5.1 screen or a 5.7?

2nd thing, battery life/SD card/replacement battery (in case you need it in heavy days or you're travelling.. Or stuck in meetings like me)

With that being said, if you are a business man or someone who works within design/art and are always taking note or need a digital platform to draw or use Office cloud to make changes I recommend the Note 4.

It's a phone for productivity persons.

In terms of performance, don't worry because Snapdragon 805 is the best chip from Qualcomm in my opinion and can last you till end of 2016 as top end phone.

    I'm using note 4. I liked S6 and S6 edge
But there is no difference between S6 and note 4 except for battery, Sd card and S pen so I'm keeping my note 4

I was in your same situation a month back lost as to what to get......then I came to know that the S6 has a smaller battery capacity than even the S5 despite it having higher specs, better camera, so I bought the Note 4.

    - Note 4 has a 3200 mAH battery, you can use it for 2 days easily on a single charge
    - Note 4 has a better camera, even though they're both 16MP, just take a look at the 2nd page in this camera shootout and look at the red carpet on the balcony, on the S6, it lacks details, you can't see the yellow lines in the red carpet, the Note 4's lens is better:

Intergalactic camera shootout: Galaxy S6 vs. Galaxy S5 vs. Note 4 vs. iPhone 6 - GSMArena.com

    - Note 4 has expandable memory, so it turns out much cheaper if you just add a 128GB SD card later when you need more storage space. With the S6, going for the 128GB will drill a hole in your pocket as it's very expensive

    - Note 4 has a bigger screen, a pleasure to browse the web and view apps with more screen real estate

I faced a similar decision a year ago when I was deciding between the Note 3 and S5. This was my 1st Android and I walked into AT&T with the intent on getting the Note 3, but the S5 was just released so I took a few minutes to compare specs and the S5 seemed to have more of what I wanted. It didn't. It was just newer with slightly better battery life, RAM, and processer. The phone is glitchy as hell and it's not nearly the multitasking/business friendly phone I was hoping it'd be.

So when it comes time to upgrade later this year, I'll either go Note 4 or back to iPhone. Luckily, I'm aware of places like this and can read up on the Note 4 before making my decision.

I agree with everyone here. If you are a power user or use it for producivity, the Note 4, imo, is the best out there, full of features and versatility. I just got the S6 Edge, and will most likely keep my Note 4. I like the 6 Edge simply for aesthetics. If the Note 5 is dual edge, I will be in heaven. 😃

I ditched my S5 for the Note 4, granted specs on the S5 aren't quite what the Note 4 is obviously but all in all I freaking love this phone much much more. I waited for the release of the S6 before deciding to snag the Note, but it didn't offer me anything over my S5, if anything it lacked features I preferred on the S5. And it looks too much like an iPhone, I ditched my iPhone for Android not to have a look a like version

I loved the Note 4 from day one, I just originally thought it was way too big (coming from an iPhone 5), but now I wouldn't have it any other way. The larger screen makes everything easier, one handed operation could be better but it's not exactly a small phone so what can you expect there. I definitely don't use it to its full potential as far as productivity goes but it's abundance of features are great when I need them, and I use the hell out of this thing day in and day out.

As everyone else said, if you're not feeling the 5.7" screen then maybe sway towards the S6. Honestly once you get used to it though, it's absolutely amazing!

Once you have had the note for any period of time, it's really hard to imagine using anything else.

Note4 all the way. Considered the S6 for a while and then bought a Note4 and am loving it.

Depends on your priorities - the S6 looks a lot nicer (although I often wonder why design is such a big deal when most people cover it up with a case) is a more pocket / small hand friendly size and has marginally better specs.
But the Note 4 has a bigger screen, removable battery, an SD card slot, I doubt there's any real world difference in performance & costs less.

There's no right or wrong answer, both are excellent phones although for me (and my big hands) the big screen & replaceable battery win out.

I won't be buying anymore Samsung phones without an s pen. I started with a Note8 and ended up getting a Note2 also. I switched carriers and tried out the G2 (an awesome device!) but missed the s pen so when I switched carriers again instead of getting my G2 unlocked I went back to Samsung because of the s pen.
I would suggest try them both in hand, take a few photos on each, etc
One thing with Samsung, we're probably on the last major Android update for it, maybe 1 more, with our Note4 whereas the S6 will get whatever "M" flavor Android pushes out and possibly "N" also.

Well the question does not make for an easy answer. The S6 and Note 4 are different devices altogether and geared for different segments in the smartphone market.

If you were at the car dealer would you buy a Ford Explorer or Ford Expedition? It would depend on what you needed, correct? Same here, the S6 is a great device so is the Note 4. They share some underpinnings, however, the Note 4 has features that make it unique and of course comes in a much bigger package.
