OK... for reasons out of my control I had to switch providers from Verizon to TMobile with my Note 4.

I bought out my Note 4 and brought it to TMobile.

I love it to death... think Verizon service is great... (Much better data coverage than TMobile, for example) but I'm saving roughly $100 per month by adding it to the TMobile family plan the rest of my family already has.

That said, the switch hasn't been what you would call seemless.

When I first switched, many of the computer systems you dial into (The ones saying "if you want X, press 1," for example, couldn't "hear" the key tone. TMobile was unaware of the DTMF setting on Verizon phones that changed the tone length from "normal" to "long." After I stumbled across that, I changed the setting and that ended the problem.) which resulted in many calls to tech support.

But today, I got a voice mail notification from a call made Friday that was critical to me and I needed to know about it when it happened. I don't know if it was the phone's fault or TMobile's fault... but it was the last straw.

So, I made the decision to switch phones... from the Verizon version Note 4 to the TMobile version Note 4... which will also get me WIFI calling which the Verizon unit does not have.

I just don't have the patience to arm wrestle with this thing any more.

TMobile's trade in deal is $350. They're saying that if I can find a better trade in deal, they'll match it PLUS add a $50 certificate. If I stick with the $350, I then have to pay $399 spread out over 24 months at 16 and change per month.

So, what I'm looking for is a better deal. When I google it, all the deals that come up are like the $200 rebates you get when you trade in, say, an S3 for a Note 4.

I was initially thinking to sell the phone on Craigslist for $425 or something... but if I can do better, I will.

Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something about the Verizon version that I'm just overlooking?

    Thanks!

The Verizon version is going for $450 and up on Swappa. (So is the TMobile version.)

I had a Verizon Note 4 on ATT. Had nothing but problems with it, as you are having. So I just got rid of it and paid for the ATT Note 4. No problems now, so I'm happy. I had a Verizon Note 2 on ATT and had zero issues with it, so I don't understand why the Note 4 was such a problem on ATT. Even like you, had a hard time getting just simple Voicemail setup and had to go to Google Voice, until finally someone at ATT got it to Work on Verizon Note 4, still had other issues though. Sometimes, you just have to find the right Tech person to fix the issue. With me, I can't afford to miss important calls either.

Here's my question...Why can't Samsung make one MODEL for all carriers? So far what I know about Apple, they make ONE model for all carriers...isn't that correct?

This is a carrier request. Apple is big enough to say, this is what you get, take it or leave it. The other manufacturers aren't there yet.

With that said, there are 2 different iphone 6 models for usa carriers, one for att, tmobile and Verizon, and one for Sprint. Keep in mind, Even though the one for tmobile would work for Verizon, Verizon won't activate it either. You can put an active Verizon 4GLTE sim card in and it would work though, assuming unlocked

For what it's worth I know Apple used to have three different models, I don't know if they still do though. I believe they had an international version that was factory unlocked, and GSM/CDMA models for different us carriers. Found this out while trying to download different iOS IPSW files when I would jailbreak my iPhones. Different files for each phone. So even Apple still has the two different (or in some cases I suppose 3) different models.

OP- could you live with a cheap "burner" phone to speak for a day or two while you try and sell your N4 for a more premium price in CL or such?

Just FYI, I think the Verizon Note 4 is not really that much in demand. I was asking a little more than $450 on CL a few months back and nothing was offered to me. I also brought it down to $325 and didn't get any interest. One guy answered with a trade, but I didn't want a trade, so didn't really get much interest in it and I take good care of my phones. At that point I just said the heck with it and traded it. Lucky I paid a lot up front on the phone before I got on Edge, took a loss, but didn't feeling like dealing with the problems anymore. Best Buy gave me the best trade in value, so just bought the ATT model there.

Damn, if I'd have known, and if you took Paypal, I'd probably have bit at that. Paypal Credit gives me 6 months to pay off, and for a good condition Note 4 on Verizon for just over 300, hell yeah I'd have bought that.

To be honest JnEricsonx, I wish I would have thought to try here. Didn't even enter my mind. Sorry about that. It was in excellent condition too, just was fed up with Verizon and then the problems on ATT network with it. Worked great On Verizon though. I couldn't believe nobody on CL would take it either. I can't have anything but a Note phone now, need the big phone as I'm older and my eyes need a bigger phone, plus I suck at texting and using the keyboard, so the stylus is a must have for me.

They are in NYC. I posted that I "might" sell mine to get on a phone plan with my husband on FB and people are harassing me for it
