When I look at the apps / processes running on my Note 4, I see Exchange Services as a running app. Why is this? I'm not running or connected to any Microsoft apps or devices.

It's just a system app. Could be started with texts, contacts, or several other apps. It sometimes turns itself off for a short while and starts again, can start other processes, and will even stop/start sub processes as you watch it. It does the same thing on my Note 4, so I don't worry about it.

It's not even actually running, just cached in memory as a service-only process, not really doing anything. nahoku described it about right.

If it bothers you, disable it:

Settings > Apps > All > Exchange services > Force stop > Disable

Android since v1.0. Linux since 2001.

Ok, thanks. I thought it had something to do with MicroSoft Exchange. No need to disable it if it just sits there. Thanks again.
