Ever notice how everyone who arbitrarily hates Samsung and posts stuff like this...its always a new profile with one post...

So, my second post is coming . I have just using tapatalk with my Facebook profile. I don't hate Samsung. I'm just dissapointed from my experience with the note 4. Battery drains, laggy performance, random reboots, camera problems. And that on a brand new phone used as a daily driver. I have bought it December 2014 and dumped it in May for and iPhone 5s. Then I have bought a Nexus 5 and now the M8. And I haven't have a single issue with them. I just wanna know why the note was so crappy? And I see you have problems and laggy performance too, but it seems like you have accustomed to this performance on every Samsung device and just sat down and say nothing. I'm extremely dissapointed. It was my first Samsung and it was piece if ****. And it will be my last one.

Ugh, went through 2 full cycles of battery life and it's definitely worse. I wonder what's going on? Maybe there's a rogue app I'm not catching, especially considering my phone is losing 25-30% of battery life while I sleep which it never did before. I'm not rooted and I use Greenify to turn off my screen usually. Anyone have an idea of what's wrong or what I'm doing wrong? I've attached screenshots of my usage for the last 2 cycles:

might I suggest Watch Dog Lite app and set a cpu usage alert?
Are you familiar with Gsam battery monitor app?
They're both free but I prefer WDL for finding rogue apps for its alert capability.
In the screen shots I have cpu stats open and it shows what running in the foreground, background, and visible. Very handy for finding apps that aren't dropping to background or just visible, aka gone rogue.

When in alerts you see west spiked above the threshold I set to signal an alert . You can set it from 10%-90% in 10% increments. This is another aid in finding rogue apps if they keep opening into foreground and spiking. Amazon content apps (music, apps, cloud, kindle) are often guilty of that after updates until they subsequently fix the bug in a follow up update.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Mark! I have GSAM but not really sure how to use it to show specifically what apps are going rogue. I'll download watchdog right now though!

Interesting, I had some.e lock screen weirdness this morning and noticed the all seeing eye at the tip of the notification tray. I dig into my settings and sure enough "smart stay" got enabled again somehow (possibly through the ota process..I've never turned that crap on)...disabled it and back to normal!

Refresher on finding and disabling smart stay? Seems to be well hidden

Has anyone noticed MMS issues since the latest update? I've tried sending pictures to a few of my contacts and they're saying that they don't receive the message. A friend of mine with the same phone is getting an error that says "Unable to attach file".

For you that have updated to 5.1.1. How does the phone feel after some days of usage? Do you still think that the update has been good?

I've stopped and/or uninstalled the apps that seemed to be acting up according to Watchdog, but my battery life is still worse after the update. Am I still able to downgrade to Kit Kat without rooting? Does anyone know for sure if a factory reset would help? I'd rather save that as a last resort.

I noticed you have bluetooth enabled. So you use alot? I only have mine on when using my Gear Watch. And you have your Connection Optimizer unchecked right?

Everyone has their personal opinion, but after 24 hours, I have been very pleased! Everything seems to be a little snappier. A lot of the lag of things is gone. It really does feel like a "higher end" device now and also with this update, I feel comfortable staying with my Note 4 and not needing the 5. So far, a great update from Sprint. (I did a full reset after updating. I like to start fresh with major updates.)
Do you use the hotspot feature on your note 4 with the lollipop update?

Anyone have issues with pictures? I don't mean the lag issue everyone talks about.

My wife & daughter transferred a few pictures via Bluetooth and they don't appear on my gallery have to manually search for them on file manager

They both have Note4 & didn't update yet not sure if that's the issue

I have it on all the time, but I also wear my gear neo all the time. How do I check if I have connection optimizer on and what does it do exactly?

Settings>more networks>mobile networks>connections optimizer

Make sure "partner wifi" and connections optimizer is unchecked. It keeps checking for strongest mobile network ala drain your battery in the proccess. I have mine turned off.

Am not sure if you are using some ROM. We don't have this option.
