    Apologies for the long question/title.

I rooted my Note 4 (SM-N910G) previously and have just upgraded to Android 5.0.1. I have used the "Root Checker Basic" app and it says "Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device." I have also checked Settings>About Device>Status>Device status and it is "Custom". I assume this means the Knox has previously been tripped.

My question is, is it safe to root device again? Is this normal practice after upgrading to lollipop ?

Thanks, your help would be much appreciated.

My "opinion" is that its never good to upgrade using OTA, while rooted. I would suggest before attempting another root over your system, that was rooted but used the OTA to 5.0.1, you "should" find a process that will get your phone back to an OEM firmware (from Sammobile). Flash through Odin, then use a root method applicable for 5.0.1 on your device.
