My phone is acting crazy!!

So I was using my phone as usual listening to music particularly and right at 32% my phone started lagging really bad and apps started crashing and it froze, so I removed the battery let it chill for a min or so and put it back in and turned it on and the battery dropped down to 22% and then to 16% in like 2 minutes and then it turned off. When I turned it back on it was at 0%. So what could this be? Do I need a new battery?

I'd get a new battery just to be safe.

Did your issues coincide with any any apps you may have just installed? This could be a software related issue..so I would suggest first, clearing your partition cache in recovery; and if it were me, I'd do a factor reset, but that's just me. I'd want to do these things before going out and buying a new battery.
