How do I connect an MHL to HDMI cable to my Vizio smart TV to play movies from my note 4? Should I use a different option? What's DLNA? I see it in my media options app on my tv.

Do you already have the MHL adapter?
If so make sure you have one with an 11 pin micro usb adapter.
Standard micro usb is 5 pin, but Samsung a few years back opted to go with a special 11 pin.
Over on the bestbuy site they have one by Rocketfish on sale, it has an adapter for the 11 pin.
Then its just an issue of hooking up the HDMI cable to the adapter and tv and making sure your TV has the correct HDMI port selected.

DNLA is something I have on my Toshiba 46" also. It's got internet and app capabilities and means you can connect your Note 4 to the TV Wirelessly. I had problems with my Note 4, some things would show, but would take forever to load. So couldn't do screen mirroring. I tried a bunch of apps, but nothing worked 100%, there are some out there though. The IMediashare app worked somewhat for me, but didn't like it and not everything would show. Tried others in the Play store with varying results. If that doesn't work for you then below is what I tried and had success with.

I went and bought Chromecast on a recommendation from a member on the forum in a different thread. It works for me on my TV and no hesitation, I can load pics, videos, and music without problem. It's pretty smooth too.

Chromecast is the only way to go. I have the first gen and second gen Chromecast. I take one with me when I travel to stream to the hotel TV.

That's actually a good idea for when a person travels. I don't travel much, but if I do, I'll have to remember that. Thanks for posting that.
