Has anyone noticed this (odd) behavior?

When I use the Default Messenger App, it begins transmitting an Infrared Signal.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior:
1) Have your Galaxy Note pointing in the direction of an Infrared Component, such as a TV,
that INDICATES when an Infrared Signal is being transmitted towards it
(some components have a little light that blinks when you press buttons on your standard remote)
2) Open the Default Android Messenger App
3) Open an Existing Text Thread (not a new text)
4) Click in the text box as if you're going to start typing
5) Watch the light on the Component (TV) you're pointing it towards

EVERY time I do this, on TWO Galaxy Notes, the Infrared Light Indicator on the TV lights up as if it is sensing a signal !

It does NOT do this while typing a Gmail email, or using Google Messenger... only in the Default Messenger App.

Running Android Version 5.1.1
