    I love this mode, but... Why is the background on it grey as opposed to black? Surely it would save more battery so that part of the display could be turned off?

    Which menu or part of the display are you referring to as being gray not black? Yes, being black will be better. But if you need to have a certain part of the display visible then gray would be more appropriate for you to see and access.

    The homescreen. The icons are in white with a grey background, and the whole background is grey. Quite a large space, as not much is taken up by the icons.

    Just think it's strange it's not black. Because of this, the screen also looks like an LCD at night if I have it on.
