Debating on upgrading and basically I am curious if I can bank on a bit snappier Web browsing and performance etc... I'm ok with no interchangeable battery or SD card. Just curious if at least the note 5 gives you a smoother and faster experience as the biggest upgrade.

Some things are negligible in this upgrade, for me performance is not one of them. The snappiness and speed of this phone has me in complete awe and gratefulness that I made the switch though I was fence sitting. It was actually the Android Central article comparing the two that actually got me to finish my coffee Saturday morning, drive to my nearest T-Mobile, and "jump" to the last 64GB black sapphire Note 5 they had and from the moment I got it home I haven't regretted that decision one bit, and it is almost solely because of the fantastic performance I'm getting from this phone. Even the features I love wouldn't be as awesome if it didn't perform so well. The honeymoon phase has never been sweeter.

I'm on the T Mobile variant and I feel it's miles snappier then what my Note 4 was. If SD cards and removable battery isn't a problem then it's definitely an upgrade over the note 4

I left the iPhone 6 plus for the note 5 and couldn't be more satisfied with the performance. Owned a note 4 in the past and there is no comparison

The performance of this phone blows the note 4 out of the water. No lag whatsoever, especially when you hit the recents button. The only time the note 4 feels as smooth as the note 5 was when AOSP rom was installed

Newer version of phone performs better than older version of phone !!!! Otherwise there is no point releasing a new phone if it performs bad than the previous version.

Better performance, you can really tell a difference in the display if you go back and forth between the 4 and 5 and I do that. Also it is a world of difference how the 5 feels on your hand compared to the 4. The N4 is a bit wider and feels a lot heavier. At the end of a long day, my hand would ache using the 4 and it felt so heavy I would take the case of. I don't know the actual weight if the two phones, I believe they are close to the same, but the design, not being as wide, being thinner, etc, all seems to distribute the weight of the N5 much better and it feels much lighter than the N4.
