I use it for the pedometer, everything else I track through MyNetDiary Pro (calories, weight and water intake). I don't pay attention to my steps anymore, but it's nice to know they're tracked and can be easily referenced in the event that I need to check it.

I am sometimes lazy so the step counter is useful in trying to get at least 10k steps a few day.

When I check my heart rate, at the bottom of the screen, it shows a birthdate but it's not mine. Does anyone know how to change it? My DOB is correct in my Samsung account so I'm not sure why it's showing up incorrectly.

I don't use it, but messed with it last week. I'm curious, if I have 'steps' set for a particular goal and the Note 5 is in my front pocket, will it 'register' as steps, if I'm walking?

    Thanks in advance.

That's the way I have it set and use and it counts my steps very well, I have my phone in my front pocket all day. I can't tell you exactly how accurate it is but I can say that very much.

Thanks. How many steps do you have it set for, per day?
I often leave my desk and my Note 5 is left behind, on my desk. Going forward I need to make a point to place it in my pocket...

I think it's on default, 6,000 steps, I really didn't pay attention to this settings as I wanted to use it to track my runs, Insanity and Weights workouts, in addition to the Blood pressure, weight and pulse, steps is an extra bonus just to see how much I walk in a normal day, been most of the time between 6-7k a day.

I've been enjoying S Health lately, mostly for the step counter. I actually added the widget to my "info" screen, along with my Google Now widget and my Google Keep widget, to the left of my home screen. It's nice that it has a shortcut on the widget that goes directly to the heart rate sensor, reminds me to use it. I just learned that it also has an oxygen saturation sensor in there (??). Not sure I'll be using it all that often, but it's interesting.

My biggest concern is that I want to get an Android Wear watch, and I plan to get one with a GPS so I can go for runs without my phone. The problem is that it doesn't seem like it will sync my steps while out for a run! BOO... So it's still not a complete solution.

Samsung released the S Health app to the Play Store to all devices running 4.4.4 and up, great move by them, finally. Now the rest of non Samsung users can try it and see that it really kicks Google fit b**t, but by a lot margin, only thing that Fit has now is the integration with Android wear.

Even when I have an Android wear smartwatch, every time I've switched to a non-Samsung device I've missed S Health a lot and ended up not using the smartwatch for that, so now I know that if I find another phone that can drag me out of my N5 (None right now, maybe a Z5 Premium later) at least I know that I can keep using S Health.

    Agree with erasat.

Even if I eventually get an AW watch, I'll still use S Health. The watch will be for the sake of using Runkeeper. It would be nice if everything was integrated in one place, but I just want Runkeeper to track my runs. I don't need to look back and say "I ran this far and did this many steps." I just like tracking my progress each day, that will speak for itself in the long run without some spreadsheet that quantifies my activity level.

I use Moto 360 but the Google Fit app and Moto Body app are very basic with just steps and heart rate. S Health is way better in features like stress rate, sleep trends, water counter etc.,

My Heart Rate screen does not show any birth date. Interesting yours does.

I tried it a few times, but I continue to default to Microsoft Health. I use the MS band so this makes sense for me. What I really like about the Microsoft Health app, it has a setting to use the phones motion tracker should I decide not to wear the band.
