can I cut VZW MicroSIM card down and use it in the VZW Note 5?

if so, should I do it with a SIM cutter? what is the best idi0t-proof cutter out there?

I've been using my friend's Note 5 for over a week and I've decided to buy one for myself. (at full retail price)

I would rather not request a new nano SIM card from VZW because there is a chance it will mess up my unlimited data plan. (long story, but I have used that unlimited data line's upgrade twice within 1 year by using the Best Buy method on my other basic lines and still managed to keep unlimited... but changing/activating a new SIM card on it has a very chance of getting rid of my unlimited)

Requesting a sim card for your Note 5 will not cause you to loose your unlimited data plan.

    Yes.
I concur as I just did it today. I have my unlimited data too, but I did it out of sheer laziness. I didn't feel heading down to Verizon today so
I simply trimmed down my micro sim to nano size with scissors. Pretty easy. Just make sure you trim the one little fitted corner first so
    you don't get confused.

Just walk into a Verizon store and ask for a new SIM card. It will not touch your unlimited and it's free. (I work at Verizon, deal with these situations all the time)

    carraser891,
I did go to a Verizon Store and they did put in a Nano Sim in a S6 I had purchased from CL however they said they can't activate it without messing up my UDP since they don't have the code for my UDP plan any more.
When I try to activate the phone on line myself, it tells me that the I need to select a NON UDP option....
Looks like there is no other option than cutting the Micro Sim from my S3 to fit in the S6.

Are you suggesting I go to another Verizon store?

Yes a corporate store and tell them to activate your phone only and not to change your plan at all. Retail purchases do not require you to change your udp guaranteed

If you pay full retail, they can't mess with your UDP. Just ask for a SIM card - if you go to a corporate store, they are free.

Old thread I know, but I'm having similar situation. I'm trying to figure out how I can get a new nano sim card for the S8+ without losing my legacy UDP. I have my old micro sim card from my Note 4, I got the phone using my Dad's upgrade on his line with a device payment plan.

I wen't into a corporate Verizon store asking them if it was possible to "port" the information over from my micro sim card to a new nano sim card. Maybe my choice of vernacular was incorrect, but the lady behind the counter basically told me that they can't do that and then proceeded to give me a whole story that since the phone was upgraded on my Dad's line, that he would have to come with me into a Verizon store and have his old phone deactivated, have the new upgraded phone activated, then have his old phone reactivated, and then finally they can move my number and plan over to the new phone.

Does any of that sound true? It sounds like a huge hassle to me, and I might be left with having to cut my sim card myself if that's the case.
