Love the note taking feature of the 5. Been playing around with the action memos and S Notes. Am I assuming the action memo is just for quick 1 page notes etc...? No multiple page meeting notes. And the regular s notes can do multiple pages etc?

Now, what about evernote and OneNote. Any of you use them vs S note? If so, why or why not? I added the S Note extension pack which added voice notes inside the written notes and some other features. Pretty cool but also a lot like evernote.

I'm going to test them out now.

Also a S Note use question... once you add a favorite pen, how can you delete it?

    THX in advance.

Correct, that's the main idea behind Action Memo VS S-Notes... however, the version on the Note 5 DOES let you add multiple pages to Action Memos, but in reality it's just saving each page as a separate memo on S-Notes (they have their own section there).

I've tried all and end up going back to S-Notes. Evernote, to me, it's too bare bones (and S-Notes syncs to Evernote anyway), and the closest contender would be OneNote because of how it integrates with Office and Sharepoint (which I use heavily at work), but still seems to be missing features.

I have one note in my air command. It works very well. To me it works perfectly with the pen.

There's also a Windows client for S Note so you can create/edit/delete notes in it and have the info synced with your device(s) and vice versa.

    S Note

    SAMSUNG's Digital World

For non-Note Samsung devices (like a tablet) there's an S Note viewer app in Samsung Apps.

You owe it to yourself to figure out what S Note/Action Memo can fully do. I've used all three apps you mentioned and which works best depends on whether the majority of note taking you do is mobile or desktop originated. A lot of people use Evernote and OneNote to manage their lives and job. S Note's not for that. Most of my "noting" is mobile originated which, for me, S Note's the best of the three at it.

    I'm currently struggling with this.

The first logical choice for me is OneNote. I have a Surface Pro 3 and I love OneNote in Windows 10. I don't love it so much on the Note. The inking isn't as smooth and when I share action notes to OneNote it doesn't OCR correctly. And the images are low quality.

Then there is Evernote. I can't write directly in Evernote on my Surface which is just silly. But sharing action notes to Evernote results in being able to search my handwritten notes. But I don't want to manually send notes one at a time and Samsung thought about this when they created sync to Evernote. My only gripe is that the synced notes have even worse quality than the ones in OneNote. And I'm talking about the automatic sync. Not when you send a note one at a time using the share button. This is driving me nuts. Hate looking at low quality files.

So right now I'm going to stick to OneNote simply because I have a Surface and my desktop experience is more important. And the mobile experience isn't so terrible.

Can you put the widget to go directly to create note in air command or just the main OneNote icon?

I assume it puts them in quick notes?

Yes, in quick notes. However, I click on the one note icon in air command, I write notes directly into the folder of my choice. It's really handy for me. Like the previous post mentioned, I to have a surface pro and it makes everything easy.

One thing that bugs me too is the ugly color of the OneNote App... that ugly purplish bluish yuck color. Lol

I also really like the structure of the S Notes. The notebooks that you can sort and search vs the pages and sections on OneNote

OneNote has some pretty decent inking. S Note seems a bit better with real writing experience.

I think maybe both have a place vs either/or situation..

Action memo for a quick note or list of things to pick up at the store on the way home.

Onenote is the best for me when it comes to long term work files and organization. You can highlight text in outlook on the pc and just drag onto Onenote, also spreadsheets and Adobe documents are very easy to get into Onenote.

That's true. I use OneNote for work and then it's in my phone too. Now I can add written notes.

If I could only change get the color....lol

Lol, I get the color issue.

With ink and the way Onenote works with Excel, Outlook and basically everything else I use, I could go on and on about how useful it is for me.

I think it's like a lot of other really good applications, if you spend the time to learn how it works you will not want to go without it.

I use s note the majority of the time for quick notes and elaborately detailed hand written notes with pics and recordings as well as typed words. I use one note for my basic ongoing lists with typed words, for the integration across all platforms so I can pick up where I left off on my pc or tablet etc...

I use LectureNotes, which I then export to Evernote. The main reason I do this is because the image quality of S Note in Evernote is such low quality. I like to refer to my notes in Evernote, but I need them in good enough quality that I can read. If Samsung were able to improve that, I'd switch to it full time in a heartbeat.

Is there a way to see your S Notes online or sync to an account somewhere?

I took notes this morning in a meeting in a evernote. Inking was good and then voila, they are on my laptop etc inside evernote. I worry with S Note about them being just in device.
