For some reason I can't get my T-mobile Note 5 to use Google voice for my voicemail. It ALWAYS defaults back to stock voicemail where I have to dial a number to retrieve my messages. I have unistalled and reinstalled Google voice, hangouts, hangouts dialer and checked and changed everything I could think of. The voicemail settings is also greyed out under the voicemail provider. So, maybe the answer is in these settings, but I'm unable to get to them.
Has anyone successfully setup Google voicemail on their T-mobile Note 5?

I use carrier VM but can access VM from Google Voice as well. It shows up in the Google Voice app and gives me text transcription and playback. Or I can dial carrier VM and access.

I've used Google Voice for years on several phones with T-Mobile.

First, Hangouts and Hangouts Dialer have nothing to do with this.

Second, do you have conditional call forwarding? You must be postpaid, prepaid customers don't get that service.

Third, do you use a GV phone number?

Android since v1.0. Linux user since 2001.
