Note 5 LED light question

Greetings all,

Got my note 5 about a month ago and I love it. I would appreciate some accurate feedback regarding note 5 led light indicator. The led light blinks when a miss call, text message or Facebook notification arrives.

The question is:

When the led flashes, how long does it flash? Is it until I unlock screen to see the message ?

Does it kill battery since when I sleep I get sometimes whatapp message or a email so the whole night does the led light flashes?

Led uses basically no power..that led could flash for years it flash until you check the notification

I do prefer how the led blinks till the message has been read. Whereas a BlackBerry will stop after 15 minutes...
