Why wasn't there a CPU upgrade from the S6 for this year's Note?

It might be the same processor but the in my usage,note 5 gets substantially better battery life,runs a little better, and runs cooler. Not sure what Samsung did specifically, but the Note 5 is definitely an improvement in my book.

it's hexadeca-core or bust for me.... (and throw in the following as well)

32GB of RAM
512GB of internal memory
true 8k Super-Duper-AMOLED++++ screen
USB-C connector
iris recognition unlocking
self-destruct meltdown mechanism(in case of theft or robbery of phone)

There is no sane human on this Earth who would support making a phone out of glass.

Multiple companies have done it -- You don't have to agree with it but there are some who may have a different view / opinion than you on that :).

The Note 2 had the same chip as the S3.

The only difference was a bump in clockspeed by about 200MHz.

There isn't any bump in clockspeed here.
