Way better than the g4. I got 2.5 to 3 hours of screen time on the g4. I get anywhere from 5.5 to 7 hours of screen time on my note 5. I'm on Verizon.

5.5 hours of SoT is amazing i wish my G4 could do that

It has to be something wrong with the g4 software. When I had the g4 I would have Google services using 10 to 12% of my battery. With my note it's 1 or 2% on average. I actually really like the g4 software but I also like the s pen.

I found the G4 to be really great with common tweaks used. And the standby battery time...just wow.

That said the Note 5 has been equal or slightly better, with the caveat being less tweaks implemented by myself.

You didnt have any drain issues like people were saying? I have T-Mobile and if you can get 5 hours SOT time then I am SOLD

Really everyone I know on T-Mobile isn't having issues. The last update I did messed up something when it updated, Samsung is looking at that phone.

I've consistently have charged every day to every other day.

Many of us are using package disabler pro that is only for Samsung phones, that allows you to disable all bloatware you want.
