So is there any way to do this?

I'm in my car with my phone connected to Bluetooth. Listening to XM and running navigation on the head unit.

My boyfriend ran waze on his iPhone 6 plus and waze would interrupt the XM (as a phone call) and speak the warning over the radio. So notifications came through as auto phone calls that interrupted the music/navigation.

Is this possible on the Note? I have Android auto on my 2015 Sonata but haven't used it yet.

The Android Auto app acts as a gatekeeper between your vehicle and what your phone sends to it. It's up to apps talking to Android Auto as to whether or not you hear/see notifications on your car's systems.

Here is their page describing what is supported.
    Android Auto

Hopefully it just "works" - that's the design goal. Good luck!
