Hey guys just got my new gold color now 5.it's one heck of a beast and I am in love with the s-pen. I earlier used iPhone 6 and 5s. Now coming to Android is good. But the thing that is bugging me is that the amoled screen on these devices do burn in. This is not letting me enjoy the device. Can you please guide me how to avoid burn in?

Any tip you want to give? Do you use the launchers to hide the notification bar?

I use Nova, but don't hide the bar. Last device, 2 years no burn.

I think the issue is scarce as I was not able to find a proper thread anywhere.

I have had the three latest S series and the three latest Note series and no "burn in" of any of those screens.
I also follow the reviews and testing results for Samsung phones and tablets and have never read anything even suggesting screen "burn in".

Now on my 6th Galaxy device (Including Note 4 and Note 5), going back to 2009 or 2010 with the release of the original Galaxy S device. Over that period of time, stock UI, Nova, rooted devices, unrooted devices, across the spectrum. All daily use, 24/7 powered on, 10-12 hours a day of periodic to frequent use. (Avg screen time 4-6 hours daily is my estimate.)

I'm lazy, and keep the screen bright on manual at between 35-60% depending on the situation.

Never had an issue with burn in on any of these devices.

I would not spend any more time worrying about that, if I were you.

You do not have to worry about this. You would literally have to leave your phone on the equivalent of a display model in the store at full brightness for days to experience anything close to burn in. The only place you would likely see this is on a display model In a store like best buy where they have a demo mode running constantly. No one could ever use their phone to that capacity. I have had NOTE 3 through 5 and have never even once thought about this issue or have known anyone with this issue. Rest easy and use your phone to your hearts content.
