I have the note 5 SM-920C (middle east and north africa variant). Before buying this phone I have read/watched a lot of reviews regarding everything and the benchmarks. Now that I have the phone, although I love it very much it isn't what I expected. First of all Battery life literally su***. Under heavy usage it lasts about 8-9 hours, average usage 12-14 hours, very low usage 17-18 hours, onscreentime is about 6-7 hours, and it can drain 10 percent in 10 hours on standby (I have had the mobile for more than 3/4 weeks now and I have done a lot of tests) . While this is the case, on other variants like the T-mobile variant or AT-T it can last up to a day and a half under heavy usage which is kind of making me jealous and annoyed and like why such a huge difference? The other point on Antutu my device score 52121 compared to their benchmark test for the note 5 which scored 69501 and same goes for geekbench and quadrant standard. I thought the problem was with the kind of bands I am using regarding the battery life, but when I discovered this as wwell I was completely enraged. Should I now send it to repair while it is still under warranty or it is just that this variant is really bad?

Welcome to Android Central! 6-7 hours of screen-on time is fantastic, but I agree that the idle time isn't great. That might have to do with certain apps you're running, or certain settings you have on. Poor cell signal could also eat up battery. It would help to see some battery stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

    1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
    2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
    3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
    4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

    http://forums.androidcentral.com/amb...d-central.html

Benchmarks don't always mean everything. Do you actually notice any issues with performance when using the phone day to day? If benchmarks are important to you, I suggest you do a factory reset, and don't reinstall any apps initially. Install the benchmark app, and then run it.

I am charging it now and will post updates once I drain it. Benchmarks are annoying me because yes, there are (sometimes) random lags while typing on the keyboard (like in the keyboard itself). I don't have that much of apps installed or (not safe apks) and stuff like that just pretty common stuff facebook, snapchat, whatsapp (social media stuff), 1 heavy game that demands some cpu and gpu (which i have downloaded few days ago while experiencing this kind of stuff), battery doctor, GSam battery, and the benchmark apps. Since day one I have noticed such lags, but i thought an update would make it right but it hasn't as well as the battery draining too fast. Benchmarks aren't really that important to me but i think they indicate there is something, or maybe not... I don't know hahahaha

Also turn off all power saving. Most of it is just slowing the CPU speed (which saves a lot of battery). When you benchmark you want the phone running at full speed.

Apparently screenontime isn't what i thought after many tests, it appears it is much less, more like 4 hours max.

You will find them attached, I couldn't upload them using the picture icon for some reason that I do not know.

It did make a huge difference. I didn't notice I had it on until you told me. antutu test jumped to 69k

It's really best to post the screenshots after the battery has gone from 100% down to around 20-30% (not by 20-30%), so we can see a good representation of battery usage through almost an entire full charge. The fact that you have 7% Time without Signal does suggest that poor cell signal might be a contributing factor.

This was conducted during night time here at home, where I used it a bit above normal usage. and I am mentioning home because at home signal is much better than in college (you can see that from stand by time) plus i don't use data connection that much at home. just thought it would be important to mention these points.

Thanks a lot for your time I know I have been such a bother

5 hours of screen on time with 25% battery left is still quite good. It's hard to comment on your idle battery life, since you were actively using the phone for more than half the time it was on since the last full charge. If idle battery life is much worse when you're at school, then it could still be due to poor cell signal.

Yeah, poor signal is a real drag. Not much you can do about that, unfortunately, besides turning on Airplane Mode. Of course, that means you can't receive any calls.
